What does it mean to you when you call someone (or they call you) a friend?

It means that I feel comfortable with that person, I know they are someone I can chat to and know they will listen and be there for me if I need.

Yeah I have people in my life like that @Ben-RO generally connections I've made through work, footy, music but I've gotten to know them more than just an acquantice, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to hang out with them on the weekends or anything

It can mean so many things. I have people who i am very close to and in that case the meaning of friendship is a strong connection that i have with another person, usually based on stuff that we both like, but also on the fact that we can talk and understand each other and how we think and stuff. Although there are also people who i am friends with who i don't have that huge connection with and i must confess i am guilty of having friends who are just kind of numbers on my facebook page... I am not sure if that's a good thing. Hmm.
