Animal Companions

Well its no secret that I love animals and have a sort of animal radar, wherever I go I will find and pat all the dogs/cats/birds/monkeys/bears within a 100km radius.

I think that my dogs can really tell what kind of mood I am in, if Im feeling a bit down they get all snuggly and give me hugs, if  Im feeling happy they encourage it by being playful and energetic. Animals really are awesome best friends and great companions.

SO !

Tell us about the pets or animals that you have

Their name, type of animal and why you love them!

If you dont have any but love a certain animal tell us why!

Okay so I have two dogs, a Moodle called Peaches and a Kelpy x Ridgeback called Carlos !

Peaches is awesome and small and fast, she is cheeky and sassy and jumps on my bed in the morning. She catches flies and kills them and then spits them out for me to keep... (umm thanks?) haha

Carlos is huge!  A whole two arms big hug size and he likes to eat the reticulation and roll in mud puddles

Your go!

I am definitely an animal person, especially cats! My cat-lady tendencies have become a running joke between all my friends, haha. At the moment I have a cat (Nemo) and a dog (Coco), both rescue animals.

Nemo isn't really a cuddly cat, but he's pretty vocal and always lets you know when he's hungry. If we ignore his 'feed-me' cries (because he cries for more food as soon as he eats everything he has), he goes to his cat flap and bangs it with his paw so it makes a really annoying noise. Cheeky kitty!

Coco, our dog, thinks that she's a cat. She absolutely adores Nemo, but isn't that big on other dogs. She follow him around and constantly tries to give him her toys to play with (which he regards with disdain, haha). She's always licking his ears too. Secretly I think Nemo doesn't mind that much, but when he gets fed up he turns around and chases her around the house! Haha.

@hartley_  Eep! That video is entirely accurate actually! Especially the pair at 0.12 with the face licking! My cat constantly has a "Why are you doing this to me?" look on his face while my dog has the "Why won't you loveeee me? ):" look, haha.

@hartley_

I am 100% an animal person too! I actively seek out dogs to pat whenever i'm in public.

I have two dogs - a golden retriever & an english bulldog X staffy. The golden retriever is basically like my assistance dog and always knows exactly how to act based on what mood i'm in. My facourite thing to do is take her for a run. I've had her for 11 years so she's basically my best friend Smiley Tongue

The english bulldog x staffy is a bit dumb. He's a sook and doesn't ever want to do anything but eat and cuddle. But that's okay with me Robot Very Happy

My dog passed away a few months ago so I'm feeling quite empty reading this thread 😛 But I loooooove dogs - I find it funny when people take them for walks and discourage them from coming up to you, because you're a stranger, but I'm always happy to say hello to any four legged friends passing by 🙂

@lokifish Robot Sad A few years ago I lost a dog too, but it hit our other dog harder. He would howl all the time, we had to get another dog. It's so sad because he has arthritis in his hips but we, well, I can't leave him at home when I walk my other dog. It won't be long... but let me tell you about them!

First we had our golden retriever C, he passed away late 2010. It was so long okay, almost four years (Oh my gods!) But it doesn't feel like it at all. He was about 15. We also have our curly coat retriever named M. He's a darling and I don't need a lead on him when I walk him. Although he's about 13 now and is a grumpy old dog, he snaps at any dog that's not G that comes near him. One time, when we were out, a dog was bothering G and he ran up to protect her! Which leads me to our staffy x whippet or greyhound probably. All we know is she's staffy. We got her from the pound a few months after C passed because M was so sad. She's beautiful but barks at everything! And those are just the dogs!
We've had four cats, still have one now. I'm not a big cat fan but here I go. Our first cat named B was run over by accident, he was hidden under a wheel. Then our second cat, she was so adorable! ... she was probably stolen. Because she was outside and then just gone. Next was our third cat, our first cat after we'd moved. Oh he was also a beauty but one day he came home injured and was never the same, he would attack everything. It's my fault he's gone... but never mind that! Anyways, then there is R, we weren't supposed to have her but my siblings asked my parent when they were half asleep and kind of got her without permission. She's still here too! She's attached to my bro but when I'm the only one home she'll jump onto my desk and be affectionate to me.
Oh and our birds. We've only had two. I got J a few years ago, he's so beautiful. Loves to mimic other sounds. He's actually mine, not the family's but mine mine. And then there's F, he was half mine but he was, is, a noisy little fellow and moved out with my sis.
We've had fish before too. My sis and I had one fish but then we moved and had to leave them behind. My bro on the other hand, he had 13 I think. He really couldn't keep a fish.
Oh and the chickens! We had two chickens, or was it three? No, I'm pretty sure it was two. We don't have them anymore (They're at a farm, a real farm) though.

This was a bit of a ramble but we've had a lot of pets.
