I like Kale chips, it really is just kale cooked in the oven, sooo yum!
Those Zuchini chips from Grill'd are actually my favourite thing in the world
Loveee Lentil As Anything and Vegie Bar (though it can be really loud). Fitzroy has awesome vegetarian places, would love other recommendations.
I went to this amazing restaurant called Abstract 51 recently and it was sooooo nice! As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see they had several non-meat options.
Although for actual vegetarian restaurants, I would recommend Vegie Bar in Fitzroy and Lentil As Anything in Abbottsford. Both are very good!
Awesome idea for a forum I need some new food ideas
I used to HATE sweet potato but now I it!
It is so good cut into "chips" and baked in the oven with garlic powder, paprika, tumeric, rosemary, chilli.....dipped in avocado....heaven
@letitgo Grill'd is where I first tried sweet potato chips - you gotta try them there with some chilli mayo they are amazing! I tried the zucchini chips there too but I thought they were a bit too oily for my liking.
If anyone has not tried Ethiopian food I would also recommend checking it out - Saba's Ethiopian Restaurant on Brunswick St Fitzroy is amazing......everything is gluten free and they have a vego/vegan menu too...food is delicious
COME DINE WITH ME HOUSEMATE/FRIEND EDITION.
You will need:
- Some friends
- Some ingredients if its your turn to cook
- A phone with a camera
HOW IT WORKS:
Each week, somebody cooks dinner for my housemates, myself and some friends. This can take place at any of the friends houses. A different person/household cooks each week. Dinner is prepared and everybody eats. The guests video themselves using the hosts phone, they give the meal/s a rating out of 10. The score is calculated and whoever gets the highest score after everyone has been a host, wins.
I must say it is pretty hilarious watching the videos especially when we've usually had a few too many.
We've done this a couple of times and our house won last time, the prizes for our group of friends are usually pretty lame, I think last time somebody did one load of our washing?? Which was actually more a hinderence because as part of the agreement we had to take it to their place....
Its a great way to gain cooking skills and socialize.
