Feeling a bit useless and lost

I'm a new teacher and I like making tests but there are too many mistakes in them. Just makes me feel useless. I don't know if I have what it takes to be a good teacher and a functioning happy human it's just too much.

Hey @BobRoss707

I'm so sorry you're going through that. Teaching is an extremely challenging profession, and the fact that you are not only doing it but wanting to be a good teacher and enjoy making tests speaks very highly of you as a teacher. Whilst I'm not a teacher myself I do private tutoring, so I really relate to your experiences with making mistakes. Teaching involves so much work and can definitely get overwhelming 😔 Similarly to the response from @Taylor-RO I was wondering if you had anyone to reach out to about this? You deserve to be supported and I'm really glad you reached out to us ❤️

Hi @BobRoss707

I'm really sorry to hear that making mistakes is making you question your worth, especially as a teacher. It sounds like the pressure of daily functioning is also having an impact on how you feel about yourself. Worrying about making mistakes shows that you care about your job and the wellbeing of your students. We all worry about making mistakes especially at work but it's important to reach out if it feels like it's getting too much. What does 'too much' look like for you? I am also wondering if you have any support at the moment? Whether that is support from colleagues, senior staff, family, friends or a health professional Heart Also, just so you know, I moved your post to a different section of our forums to ensure that your post gets the support it deserves.
