I'm terrified

I'm terrified of what's to come. I'm terrified that I will never be able be calm again. I can't even think positively. I'd rather be asleep than do anything else

Hi @Sky_Summer I'm sorry to hear that you are so terrified, it sounds like there is a lot happening right now.

You mentioned that you are terrified of what's to come and that you can't think positively, which has me quite concerned. I am wondering if you have been having thoughts of suicide? Please do let me know as we really want to be able to support you the best way we can. It is common to go through times like this and to give up on hope of things ever feeling different, but we exist here as a community to remind you that things don't always have to feel like they do now, forever. There is always help and things really do change even when it doesn't feel like they will.

If you do need some support from a counsellor today, there is always the Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800. It can often be helpful to be able to talk things out with someone who is a professional and is separate from our lives when we feel very low and I would really encourage you to see if it helps you too.

We are here for you 💜

I mean I have had thoughts of suicide but I don’t think that I would act on them. I have a support network, so I really shouldn’t be feeling like this, I should be ok. I spend most of the day in bed, and the only things that I really enjoy doing is sleeping and a bit of soccer. I’m in lockdown and every mental health condition that I have ever been diagnosed with is bad at the moment.

Hi @Sky_Summer,

I am sorry to hear that you have been having thoughts of suicide. I can tell that things are really difficult for you right now and that enjoying things might be a struggle. Having a support network doesn't mean that you have to be ok, sometimes things are really hard. I know lockdown is an incredibly difficult situation and so I can only imagine how this has made things worse for you. If your thoughts ever got worse, would you reach out to your support network?

I have reached out to my support network. I am so well supported, but unfortunately it's not enough.

Hi @Sky_Summer, it must be upsetting to struggle with your thoughts even though you have a good support network and are reaching out.. just to clarify, does that mean that your thoughts are unmangeable tonight? I may not see your response in time as I need to log off soon, so I encourage you to reach out to a helpline if you need to.

Hi @Sky_Summer

I'm so sorry to hear you've been feeling this way. It's completely okay to feel down even when you have a support network around you. I'm proud of you for reaching out to us here on the forums and reaching out to a helpline too.

How are you feeling today? ❤️
