Re: TW- what’s holding me back from suicide?
@Bananatime04 I think everyone does the first time they go - I was absolutely ridiculous.
And I did!!! It was really fun, though I accidentally overworked myself and my legs spent the rest of the night protesting..
Did you get to go today?
I love online shopping!!!!!!! I don’t read much tho so I never buy books 😕
If it's your first time skiing, you absolutely will.
Layers are your friend. Also learn how to stop... the snowplow is also your friend.
And I don't do a huge amount of shopping, but I do a lot of internet window-shopping.
I'm a little boring in terms of shopping actually, my favorite places are Ikea and bookshops.
Good answer! Shopping is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The mountains near Melbourne, it's snowing here!!
I haven't been able to ski for the last couple of days thanks to my legs, but I'm hoping to be able to go again this afternoon.
No shopping yet.. but when I'm back in Melbourne I will, there are some amazing bookshops that you just don't get in WA...
Have you gone shopping? That’s a must
Have you done anything exciting? That’s also a must
@Bananatime04 awwww!!! Yay!!!
I'm on a holiday rn, I miss my kittens...
I know it’s Mum choice but if I quit then she could be spending 4 grand a year extra on herself but I’m stopping that 😕
@Bananatime04 just remember that your mum's choosing to spend that money, you aren't forcing her.
And good night, I hope you have a good sleep!
Ugh and I figured out how much money it’s costing my Mum.. I think I’m gonna quit after this comp season because I didn’t realise how much it was.. it’s 4 grand a year not including comps which are also expensive. It’s 500 for a term and that doesn’t include holidays which are also 500 each and there’s 4 holidays.. sometimes Christmas holidays can cost more too! It’s just so much money to be a senior gymnast and I didn’t even know!
@Bananatime04 ouch ouch ouch! That's what I was thinking of....
Every time I go into rising trot, I sit on the metal buckle in the middle of the reigns. Every. Single. Time.
And..... easy is.. not the word I'd use for that......... oh my gosh gymnastics is even more intense than I'd thought..... wow..
I have got... so many questions..
I am impressed but confused.
Then again, I can't exactly talk; I enjoy volunteering at a place where I regularly have to fight off hormonal animals..
And sliding very quickly down a hill with a slippy piece of metal strapped to each foot...
Sports are weird.
That’s so funny!!
I’ve never fallen to sit on the beam but 2 weeks ago I done my first ‘split the beam’ that’s really common and hurts so much because the beam smacks between your legs! Ouch!
The round off back handspring back sault is like a run cartwheel to two feet, back handspring then a back flip with no hands.. all connected. It’s easy once you get the hand of it!
If you watch this to 57 seconds you’ll see the vault and bars for my level: https://youtu.be/ElZLAJmzS_0
And if you watch this whole thing it is the floor routine that I’m doing but we do the dance a little bit more fun and different than in the video but the skills are the same and in the corner the girl does the tumbling passes but the bigger screen she doesn’t:
This is the beam routine and again we do the dance a bit different while she rushed it we actually show it off lol: https://youtu.be/aPXewiqzWJg
@Bananatime04 woah...
Is the "round off back handspring back sault" you... standing on your hands, pushing off and doing a back flip from there, twisting around mid air and landing on your feet?!
Part of me's wondering if I misunderstood or if super-people in fact walk amongst us...
Also 😲!! But how??
I end up sitting on my own reigns when horse-riding, how do you avoid "sitting" on the beam while doing that???
Beam skills include stoop through mount, back walkover, full turn, hand stand for 2 seconds connected to a straight jump, split jump tuck jump, split leap and front sault dismount. There’s also a lot of dance in there too.
I could find a YouTube video of the floor routine.. dunno about beam tho because there are a few options to each skill
I got to do full floor routines and full beam routines today at training so that was exciting! I have 3 weeks till my first comp!
@Bananatime04 I'm glad he's feeling a bit better.
And today's been a little weird for me, but anyway..
That sounds so exciting! I hope you do well
