School stresses me out
Since the pandemic started, it has caused a mayhem in everyone's lives. Apart from people dying because of the virus, the people who are staying at home are also struggling. I'm just going to rant my heart out here.
I'm still in my last year of high school, keyword being STILL because our exams can't take place in online mode. The final exams are very important for all the students and it has never happened that any batch had to face this situation. It's too much pressure thinking about what is my future going to be now, I lowkey want the exams to get cancelled and the teachers to grade us accordingly. Like let us fucking graduate and go to university. I've been looking forward to going to uni since I was in 9th grade and now because of this bloody covid situation, all my plans are getting destroyed.
Needless to say that my mental health is deteriorating because of various reasons- family issues, depression, insomnia, academics and social life. Holy shit my social life has been so detrimental. It honestly sucks that we are going through such tough times for OVER AN YEAR. I just want this shit to end because I can't anymore 😭

I can TOTALLY understand where you are coming from. Being a high school students who is about to do their yearly exams in a week and almost 3 months into lockdown now, I can empathise and see the perspective where you are coming from.
It really sucks and for me, what I try to do, is maintain happiness with my friends even while I'm in lockdown.
Have you tried talking to your friends or teachers about this?
Because most likely they ae feeling the same way and maybe they have tips that they could share with you on how they are battling this time period?
Because, always remember, we are all in this together! and the only way we can get through tough times like this is with all the love and support our family and friends can give!!
If you need any help or support, don't hesitate to rant or speak to the Reach out community:)
I can definitely relate with your struggles!! 😞 I'm just finished my second term in my third year of university and I can only imagine how hard it is for you to adjust to such a radical change in your life. It must be really stressful having to think about a future that is very unclear as of right now. I'm glad that you look forward to university though! Definitely a good way to stay optimistic of the future!
I'm not sure if this would help but I've been organizing an online games (skribbl, JK.LM, codenames etc) night with my friends weekly and I can feel an improvement in my social health. (Ofc this would depend on your circumstances).
Really hope you are doing better!! ❤️ And feel free to have a good rant here anytime you want!
hey @justdepressed you sound like you're going through a bit of a tough mental time at the moment, but feel free to rant on here any time! Have you thought about speaking to a counsellor or psychologist to get some strategies to help with your mental health? Also I know it's not the same as events in real life, but you could always facetime your friends, do your homework together or chill out together (e.g. netflix party hehe). I know it has been a bit of a sucky year, but can you think of 5 things that make you really happy and bring joy to your life, it can be anything big or small. What are your plans for uni? I know you must be keen to get started at uni because you know what you want to do, but just remember you will be able to do it soon, your plans aren't completely destroyed just a little delayed.
hey @justdepressed it's been a little bit since you made this post and I just wanted to check in and see how your mental health is going and how you are travelling. How is the situation with your final exams?
Hi there @justdepressed
Final year of school is tough enough without adding everything that COVID has thrown on! I can't imagine how difficult and stressful this must be, especially as you seem to want to achieve highly. Has your school given you any indication as to what is going to happen with exams?
COVID has really thrown everything out of whack, especially social stuff. Have you been able to connect with your friends much? I think this part was the hardest for me, especially with a bunch of assignments and study to do, it can make you feel so isolated. Doing silly little things like words with friends helped me to feel a little more connected, and it's not too emotionally taxing (like facetiming or phone calls are) so I could do it when I wasn't feeling too great.
I really hope you get to finally finish and get on to uni! I can only imagine how frustrating this must be. We're always here to listen to a lil (or big 😉) rant, and I know you'll smash whatever final assessment your school is going to throw at you, uni is just around the corner 💕
Hey justdepressed,
Covid has really put the world in world wind of uncertainty and it has definitely been unchartered territory for everyone. I guess things would be easier if we have seen others deal with this kind of thing before, so that we could have prepared for what had happened. I can only imagine who difficult it would be to have your final year of high school drag out due to lockdowns, exams etc. It would be so cool if there was an option to graduate with the work that has been done already. It sucks that now you have come to the end point; you want to go to uni and there is this stalling issue. Is there anything you can do to help you with slowly getting your exams completed? You've been excited to go to uni for several years now and it would be so great for you to fulfill your desire.
