Music that helps

Hi Everyone

A lot of people talk about music being helpful in life's highs and lows, so we wanted to create a music thread where people can share songs that mean something to them or help them get by.

I'm going to start off with this one - it's an oldie, but I love it when I'm in need of some nurturing.

Coming back to this amazing thread! I've recently been loving the Harry Potter soundtrack - it's just so filled with nostalgia and amazing childhood memories that it always feels like a warm hug listening to it.

'I Lived' by Oe Republic is my go to mood booster when I am feeling down. It reminds to create unique memories, make mistakes and be fearless.

Such a great idea for a thread. Seeing this little thread made me do a happy dance 😍

Whenever I am overworked, stressed and things are becoming too much. I just go to one person. The one, the only. Taylor Swift!

Time to shake it off!

I love how music can play such an important role in self-care + helping to make you feel less alone in what you are feeling!

One of my favourite songs is called Sun by Jonsi. I found it through the movie We Bought a Zoo (I would also highly recommend this if you're wanting a feel-good movie!)

I feel like the songs I listen to can change depending on my headspace, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this. But at the moment, Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride - Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu, from the Lilo & Stitch Soundtrack. It just has really good summer vibes.

I listen to any genre and any band. Currently listening to blackbear. Used to listen to his music a few years ago when i was going through a really rough time.

i also love one direction. Theyre music is great, however their stories are what make them so positive. I am an aspiring musician so to see their lives going from normal to world famous in a night shows that ypu can start from anywhere and make it

I really like listening to Sleeping at Last when I need some support - their music feels like a soft hug 💛This one song has been trending as a tiktok audio recently which has made me so happy - I think it really embodies this 'soft hug' vibe: You Are Enough by Sleeping at Last

What about you? 😊

These can be a bit cheesy but I find these songs really help me to feel strong and in control of my life, and really help to ground me in reality and remind me that everything is going to be ok! 😊

Unbreakable by Birds of Tokyo

Beautiful Day by U2

I really like May it Be by Enya! Her voice is amazing and the lyrics are powerful 💙

May it Be - Enya

Also The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd (my favourite songs all seem to have something to do with Middle Earth 😄). I feel that it captures the bittersweet feeling of endings well, plus, listening to it brings back memories of reading The Hobbit 😃

The Last Goodbye - Billy Boyd

Seeing this little thread made me so so excited! The Lord of the Rings & the Hobbit movies are my comfort movies 💛I named my puppy Pippin!

I also have a playlist on spotify dedicated to the soundtracks for these movies & I love listening to it while I study
