I understand that feeling! It's so hard to not only be practicing your own skills but doing it in relation to a new culture, new organisational tree, new everything. That's very true about student teachers, I think it's all about the student being able to improve and not just stick to what they've been told to do. It's nice when they're authentic- I think kids are smart and know when adults are faking it.
That's kind of weird advice. I wonder where they got that idea? Did you find that your supervisors were very clear about their expectations, or did they more focus on you trying things yourself? I'm always suspicious of people making statements that seem like they're giving you more work 😆
Oh that's so sweet! Maybe you should write everything nice that the student's say somewhere. That will help you to feel like you're making a positive difference 😊 Sometimes it can be hard when you've studied so long that you think you should be able to implement everything you've learned, but even if you make a little difference it means you're worth being there!
