I'm logging in from Wangal land today 👋

I acknowledge and pay my respects to the traditional custodians of this land, the Wangal people of the Eora nation, and extend that respect to elders past and present.

I'm lucky to reside on this land, cared for by the Wangal people for thousands of years (at least 65,000 😲). Although nowadays there are trains, buses, roads and buildings I still witness the beauty of this country every day. When I walk the streets of my local area, I can feel the shade of ancient trees, smell the perfume of native flowers and hear the birdsong.

I'm reminded of the profound bond Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples share with land, water, and sky in these moments. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. ❤️

I recognise that every person has a part to play in reconciliation - I commit to continuous learning about Aboriginal land, culture, customs and beliefs. I commit to sharing that knowledge with my circle of friends and family - especially in the face of ignorance or racism.
