Hi @Clementine75 I dont think we have spoken before but i identify as both asexual and aromantic and have done for a while although it took me a lot longer to figure out that i was aromantic i think there was a part of me that didnt want to let go of the thought that you are supposed to have a romantic relationship or you will be lonely for the rest of your life and die alone, even though that is not true at all it is still something that society can ingrain in you so it can be hard to shake. anyway once i realised my full orientation i felt such a sense of relief like it just explained everything and i was like oh that is me in particular i identify as an oriented aroace and once i found that label it all just clicked for me. i am glad your mum has been supportive of you that makes a huge difference. there are all sorts of micro labels in the ace community and you can look into them or ignore them but sometimes it can help you further understand your "type" of asexuality (there are so many different ways to be ace and it is great). also i just wanted to mention that even if things do change sometime in the future that is totally fine labels are there for you to help you and if it fits right now that is all that matters if you have to change latter that is totally fine too if you never change also great just go with what works for you.
