Hi @Qingli_Dawn
Thank you for making this post! I'm also biracial but am not white passing, however that comes with it's own challenges! I constantly get spoken to in Chinese but my Chinese is not good enough for conversation and I feel so embarrased and like I'm a fake every time. I'm actually a mix of 3 ethnicities so I always feel like I don't belong anywhere and always feel in-between or "not enough" of any of them.
Over the years, I have made many other mixed-race friends and I think that has really helped me to form a sense of community of others who can relate. I am also making an effort to learn mandarin Chinese properly which is definitely helping me to connect with my culture. Learning about history has also removed a lot of my imposter syndrome and made me accepting of who I am because I am the way I am for a reason and am the result of many events that led to this moment. I also love to make traditional foods as I enjoy cooking, or I eat at traditional restaurants to remember the childhood foods my grandparents would make me.
My biggest regret in life is that I wish I asked my grandparents more about our culture when they were alive. I envy anyone who still has family in their life who they can ask questions to!
