Hello @ike !

I have just read some of your posts in this forum and I can truly relate to what you are saying as I am currently in the same situation although there may be slight differences in perspective or experiences.

I can truly understand you wanting to work full time job to earn the money you need to spend on the things you want to buy and enjoy. It's important for one to live the life that they are happy with and enjoy with their loved ones.

No one can tell you do anything without you wanting to do it.So with that in mind, have some courage in bringing it up with your parents lightly.Perhaps hint it out to them along the lines of :

"I'm not quite enjoying the course that I am doing right now. It's taking too much time and the work is just too stressful for me.What do you think about me changing courses?"

But of course, keep in mind that it's also important to remember that the decision can only be made by yourself. That way you can be satisified with the outcome of any decision that is made because it was made by yourself after lots of thinking and decision-making.😉

Although I can't tell you what to do perhaps there is some options out there that could help you with making decisions like booking an appointment to speak with a careers counsellor, speaking with your course coordinator or teacher or even speaking to other peers in the same course to get some insight and ideas as what to do.

These options has helped me heaps in dealing with the stress of university, changing course and finding ways to enjoy life.To give you some idea, I will tell you of my personal experiences:

First, my university course was too taxing on my physical health due to its long hours, so I booked an appointment with a careers counsellor and let them know about the situation. They then advised me to delay my course for as long as I like and in the process discover and research some options of short courses or certificate courses that may interest me.

So right now, as a result of that process, I have taken a completely different course at a different university completely online where all the assessments, exams and work are completed all online and are done in my own time. Not taking much time at all, although it may be full time.

I fully understand that perhaps even changing a course doesn't feel right for you at the moment and I don't think it should be forced. The more you feel forced to do something, the more you end up disliking it.I have dealt with this kind of uncertainty before and I do not want you to feel the same way, so please don't feel forced to do anything that I have done. It's just as an example.😉

My comfort to you would be to :

Just be yourself. Make the decisions that only you would make.Do the things that only you would do or have the capability at the moment to do.Finally,be happy.Be satisfied and find comfort in the decisions that you have made.Afterall, there is nothing to regret from making decisions that you have earned for yourself after those long, hardworking and stressful years of high school. You deserve that much from both yourself and from others. The right to be happy and to have the right to make the decisions for one's own pathway.😉😊

Hope you have taken comfort in what I have said and have a good night's rest.

Don't sleep too late!😊😄

Always here if you need someone to talk to!😉😊
