Hey @utgard
Thank you for sharing this with us, friendships are such a complex thing and it can really help to get our thoughts out and talk it over with someone. It sounds like you go above and beyond to get involved in your friend's interests which is very kind of you and shows just how important connecting with others is for you, which is awesome! I'm wondering though, if you didn't push yourself to be so invested in their interests, do you feel like the friendship had other aspects to it, or was the bond there because of the effort you put in?
I know you've mentioned your special interest is UA (and I so loved reading your thoughts on it in our special interests thread!), have you been able to find anyone else that likes the show? Perhaps even some online friends?
Having the same interests isn't always necessary to have a healthy friendship, it's ok for friends to be into different things, as long as they care about and respect you. But if you'd prefer to connect with people through interests, how do you feel about finding people who are into the same things as you first, rather than you molding your interests around others?
