Hi @AcidMonster55 welcome to the forums 🙂 we're so glad that you found us and were able to share your thoughts on what's going on with your assessments and school at the moment. The last year of school is definitely one of the most stressful times of our lives and you're not alone in feeling overwhelmed and wondering about your ability to cope with it all. I can see this especially with your new diagnoses of anxiety and depression and your recent panic attacks- it's a lot for one person to handle. I know you said you don't like compliments, but you should be proud of how resilient you are carrying on through all of these ups and downs!
I'm sorry to hear that your anxiety and panic attacks are really taking a toll on your ability to function at school. You sound like you have a lot of solid coping strategies that you've picked up. Your plan to be present in the moment before your SAC was very resourceful, as was your plan to write out all of your worries, even if it didn't work for you this time. An anxiety comic book at the library sounds like a great resource! Did it give you any other strategies you think might help with your anxiety?
I noticed that you said that you were prescribed medication but that it only seems to work for a few weeks at a time. It seems like it's not really able to help you with your meltdowns when they happen. Have you been able to speak to the professional who prescribed you the medication about your experiences? You may find that they have suggestions about what could be done differently to help your anxiety and depression more.
I was also wondering what your support system looks like? You mentioned that your parents won't tell you if you have a disorder or not- do you have any other friends, family or professionals like a counsellor or psychologist helping you through this? If you haven't been able to speak to anyone yet, Headspace offers free online mental health support and clinics across Australia. You also mentioned that your teacher was supportive of you taking some time away to calm down (even if their comments weren't the most helpful for you in that moment). Is your school aware of how you're feeling about your studies?
Finally, I wanted to link you into our articles on studying and exam stress if you'd like to give them a read 🙂 We're here to listen and offer any support we can!
