Thanks @Bel_RO

I checked out some of those articles, I found the dating app related one particularly helpful so I appreciate it. The difficult thing with dating apps is that they give you a sense of rejection at a disproportionate rate. Kinda like when you're unemployed and looking for work, the sheer amount of rejection emails you receive can get kinda heavy and hard to deal with, and honestly feels unnatural (like our brains didn't evolve to have to deal with that much rejection in a short space of time). I ended up downloading the app 'Stay Focused' so that I could remove my ability to access the app for however long I need, which keeps me from constantly checking for responses/notifications. I've only tried it today but it's actually been surprisingly helpful for now.

In terms of having people to talk to, I'm also kinda in a period of life where I'm not feeling as connected to my friends due to clashing opinions/personalities. I do see this as a weird positive though, bc I feel that it's as a result of me being more authentic and not trying to hold onto mates for the sake of it like I used to. I also do however have faith that I will be able to build new connections over time, but it just means in this period I, unfortunately, have limited people to talk to (basically one close mate I feel comfortable with, and I can't necessarily expect him to drop everything to talk whenever I need him). This website has been a bit of a God-send for now though as I go through this period, as I do still feel the need to communicate these issues with people, even if I don't know them and they don't know who I am.

Thanks again
