Hey there @skyfireinferno99, welcome back :)
Yay to getting a job! It's fantastic to hear that you're loving it. Even though we can love what we do, sometimes it is hard to get out of the bed and actually get there. Sometimes I find reminding myself of the positivities of the job or outing helpful in getting me to go, do you think that's something that might work for you?
I'm so sorry to hear that your friends have been isolating you, especially after hearing about your diagnosis'. Although it didn't work out, I'm proud of you for trying to make friends at your new place :) Do you feel like you'd be able to try again and visit a club or event to try and meet new people?
It is hard feeling burnt out and not being able to take a break. If you could go or do anything for a break, what would you like to do? You are never a lost cause. Even though it doesn't feel like it, there are people out there who care. We are 100% here to listen. Do you think when you see your psych next, you would be able to share this with them? They may be able to provide some practical strategies you could try. What do you think?

Hey there @Bananatime04, are you safe right now?
Although I haven't seen the new Aladdin yes, I did enjoy the original :) I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the movie!
When talking about suicidal thoughts on the forums, it's important to add that you're safe so the community knows that you're safe. Are you able to edit your safety into the post by 12pm? After then, I'll remove the mention from your post but you are more than welcome to edit it back in with your safety if you'd like.

Hey there @Bento,
Just letting you know that I edited out the name of the place you're studying at for anonymity.
It can be really hard to keep up with classes when they're late at night, do you find it difficult to fall asleep on other nights when you don't study? If you're interested, we have a huge list of articles on sleep over here that might be helpful for you to read.
There are often many different reasons, both physical and mental, as to why someone might be tired. We aren't able to give medical advice on the forums, so aren't able to answer your question about medication. I was wondering, have you spoken to a GP about how you've been feeling lately? They may be able to give you more practical advice on what you can do to help you feel less tired. What do you think?

Hey there @mspaceK,
Thank you for being so open and honest with how you've been feeling. It sounds like there has been a lot going on for you these past couple of months, and often it can be difficult to cope with so much happening.
It's great that the past few days have been good for you. When negative emotions feel overwhelming, sometimes focusing on those positive days and good moments can help get through them. You mentioned that you have a lot of strategies for dealing with work anxiety, are any of them helpful for other anxieties as well? It might be helpful to discuss with your psych other strategies that might be helpful for you, like some listed here, what do you think?
It sounds like the next couple of weeks working every day is one of the biggest stresses for you right now, is that right? Working every day like that can definitely be stressful, but often worth it in the long run for both the money but also for the experience gained. I've found that when I have many things scheduled or am working non-stop for a few days, having some time to myself to do something fun (with someone or alone) is a great motivator to helping me when it feels overwhelming. Is there anything you could schedule with your boyfriend for the weekends?
Although it may not feel like there's a point to sharing what's going on, it can be so helpful to just have everything out there. So thank you again for being so open with us, you can do this

Hey there @Maryhadalittlelamb and welcome to the forums,
Thank you for being open about how you've been feeling recently, it takes a lot of courage to open up :)
As @Tiny_leaf has already said, you are absolutely not a failure. It's okay to not want to tell your mum that you still self-harm. Is there anyone else you can turn to for support, aside from your mum? Such as another family member, friend or counselor?
Along with the Self harm coping strategies thread already shared, we also have an excellent list of coping strategies and distractions that might have some suggestions for you.
Keeping a list of coping strategies, such as a safety plan, that work best for you can be really helpful for when you are in that difficult time.

Hey there @xXLexi_Lou122Xx, this is a fantastic thread idea! It can be fun to look up name meanings and choose a name that you like :)
I've just edited the original post to be about sharing the meaning and origins of your chosen name instead of your real name, as some names can have very individual meanings or be a direct translation and could breach anonymity. I've moved it into Hanging Out as well for users who might not be interested in Games to also see, because it is also a fun distraction idea! Thank you again so much for creating this thread!
My name, Jay, is usually used as a nickname for names starting with j like James or Jacob, but for me it's not short for anything :) Its roots are in English.
Thank you @Tiny_leaf @lokifish and Lexi for sharing what names you'd like!

Hey there @Dyl,
I've just been reading through this thread, it sounds like you are under a lot of stress from things at school and the situation with your mum, is that right?
It's hard to tell someone about a tough time when they are also going through something. Do you think writing a letter might be an easier way telling your mum? That way you don't necessarily have to give it to her straight away. Another thing that might be helpful is to ask your mum if you can tell her, what do you think?
Is there anything you can do to distract yourself from the stress right now? We have a massive list of coping strategies and distractions if you need any ideas :)

Hey there @Beefsteak95 and welcome to ReachOut :)
It can be tricky to move forward into a new relationship when past issues may hold us back. Stopping negative thoughts can be difficult, but not impossible. ReachOut has a great factsheet on challenging negative thoughts that may provide some ideas, including some questions you can follow. What do you think?
@lr8991 has also provided some great advice, talking to your partner can be a great way to gain some insight into how they may feel. Is that something you would feel comfortable doing?

Hey there @BonnieBoo,
Finding out that your crush doesn't like you can be disheartening. I noticed in your other thread that you were considering reaching out to him, is this when you found out he doesn't share your feelings?
What are some things that you do for yourself? Doing things you can enjoy can be a great distraction from negative thoughts. We have a fantastic thread over here that has a huge list of things you can do if you need ideas.
Other things you could try are talking to your support network, is there anyone you'd feel comfortable telling about these feelings?

Hi there @Kourtney and welcome to ReachOut,
Thank you for being so open and brave in sharing your story with us. It sounds like the events at this party has had a strong impact on your life.
What happened at that party is in no way you're fault. You are not responsible for how other people act, and their behaviour to tease and insult you is not okay and absolutely untrue. People make mistakes all the time, and one mistake does not define you. We have a great article about moving on after making a mistake with some tips that might be helpful to you.
Have you ever spoken to anyone close to you, such as a friend, family member or even a professional about what happened for support? Reaching out to someone and talking about it can help you cope with what happened. Something else that can be helpful is taking some time for yourself and doing self-care (which you can read more about here) Is that something you'd be interested in?

Hey @Tiny_leaf,
Thanks for letting us know about this issue. I will forward it with digital and hopefully we can find a fix soon. Could you please let me know what browser and device you are using when this issue occurs?
In the mean time, I have a temporary solution that has worked for me in the past when this occurred and may work for you as well. Essentially, after you have written your reply, pressed post and get to the "authentication ticket expired" page, press the "back" button on your browser. Don't exit out, or check your drafts or leave that page at all except to press that "back"/"previous page" button on your browser and it should take you to the reply page with your fully written reply.

Hey there @Tiny_leaf,
Thank you for taking the time to create this thread and share what's been going on at home for you. It can be so difficult being around people who are constantly negative about the things that make us happy and the things we can't control.
Their actions are in no way your fault. You are never to blame for how someone treats you. It doesn't make you useless or any less deserving of happiness or good things. It would be great to hear about some of the things you enjoy (such as tv shows) in Hanging Out, if you feel up to.
It can be hard when other people just don't understand the pain we're in, or how difficult things really are. Have you tried talking to your GP or another professional about strategies to deal with your family's comments?

Hello all! It's time for everyone's favourite part of the week! :D
First is to Tiny_leaf for offering hope that pain will pass and that getting through the moment is possible. I love this quote: "And you don't have to apologize, I know the feeling.. But after it comes back it will go away again. And every time it comes back, you'll be more experienced at coping with it. Even though it comes back, you get stronger each time, and you'll be able to handle it better." Awesome work! Along with amazing support and companionship to a fellow user :D
Next @Bananatime04 for t aking huge steps forward this week with maintaining safety and sharing with us how proud you are of yourself!
And @I_am_not_Groot for checking in with members across the community and being a listening ear when others need it most - amazing peer support!
And @Maddy-RO for suggesting a new helpline for when someone needs a friend :)
And lastly for today @lennycat2017 for taking the lead with the GR on sharing stories this week - such an important topic and one that will help others feel confident and safe to talk.

Hey there @mspaceK,
I'm sorry to hear about the bad dreams you've been having, it can be distressing to have dreams of dying while feeling distressed and in a tough time. Have your supports at headspace given any suggestions on coping with dreams?
It sounds like you are considering other options such as hospital to keep yourself safe and offer more support- this is such a brave step and it is great to see that you are considering what options are available to you. We are always happy to chat to you more about options for support too
You've mentioned feelings of wanting to end your life, can you confirm if you are safe today? Coping with constant negative thoughts and feelings isn't easy, and talking about these thoughts is super important. Making a safety plan can also make it easier to cope when they get stronger, what do you think about making one?
If you are unsure about how to make a safety plan, Beyond Blue has a fantastic app that you can keep on your phone for easy access over here. They also have a Chat and forums that may have some resources you can access as well. Let us know if you want any support making a safety plan- many of our members use safety plan and I am sure we can work together as a community to support you
I also edited out the specific mention of what happened a couple of days ago, to keep the thread safe for other users. That being said, we are so grateful you are being open and honest with someone about what happened the other night, and we really encourage you to keep reaching out to your supports when you need them
