Hello all! Wow, I'm long overdue for one of these. Guess I'll just dive right in! What's the best holiday you've ever been on? New Zealand. It was very....refreshing. Waterfalls, clean air, lovely trees and quaint areas. My family literally decided upon it at the last minute as a spontaneous thing and so far, it's been the most wondrous. There's exciting areas, lively areas and places you can live in. This was just one of those places where it felt like people could spend ages without noticing the time fly! If you could go anywhere in the world and explore, where would it be and why? New York! I am long overdue for a trip there since I've never visited the US. You hear stories and you see pictures but until I get to experience it myself in person, I don't think I could ever shift it off the bucket list. Perhaps a little further in the future though - I'd love to stay in a place where you can see the entire skyline. Do you love or hate plane flights? Domestic - not as much of a fan. International, I love. It's less the actual ride and more the fact that I've somehow associated international flights with holidays, freedom and spending time with my family. I've been studying for so long that every break has more and more emphasis now haha. Are you a heavy or light packer? Is your packing process carefully methodical, chaotic, or somewhere in between? Kind of both, which is just little odd me. If it's a short travel, I'll throw together whatever at the last minute. If it's a longer travel or it's important, I'd have documented anything and everything down to the last detail. Which do you look for more in a holiday- relaxation or adventure? Relax omg relax. I spend most hours of any given day moving and moving so literally any spare time I have, I'll spend it relaxing. If by some miracle I get a longer period of time off, I definitely go for adventure. I wonder if you can do feasibly do this as a career nowadays  (not a real emoji I don't think lol) Imagine seeing that outside your window. There's just something about a busy city at night that I love looking at - so many places to explore, so many things happening all at once. And yet I absolutely love quiet forests too. There simple just isn't enough time to see everything but I'll do my best xD

Hi @StormySeas17, Just popped in to give some support! I can relate a bit since I'm also someone who's been doing a double degree and also in my sixth year. All of my friends have been working for years now and it definitely can feel (and look like) their lives are going way smoother than ours are! I suppose we could relate somewhat to when they say "we're our own worst critics". One thing I try to remember is that we all have our own pace. Over the years, I've slowly adapted (with help) to prioritise health over a speedy education. Some will call it slow progress but I like to think of it as me being where I need to be right now. Remember that we're almost there! You can do it :)

Well that sounds like the start of a brilliant plan! What do you reckon it'll look like? (I might steal it too, I think I've been eating so sporadically. Time feels weird when eating isn't as rushed anymore)

Hi @mspaceK, Sleeping in and being at home for ages - you're definitely not alone in this! I've been doing the same thing myself, when I should be writing up an essay or studying. It's just been getting colder and honestly, the bed is the warmest place right now :) One thing that did make me feel better (or rather, made me laugh) was knowing that Rafael Nadal, a world-class tennis player, should be spending at least some of his time keeping up his skills and yet he's been staying up late consistently gaming. Guilt aside, how do you think you've been doing?

@WheresMySquishy Oh that reminds me of a time in high school when one of my teachers and a student had regular disagreements with each other to the point of a shouting match literally every lesson. They had an parent-teacher interview later and somehow, they had literally no ill-will towards each other or even so much as a hint of hostility. It really was quite odd.

What types of things can cause drama within/between friendship groups? Disagreements I guess? There are so many things people disagree on but I guess that makes us all unique :) Drama doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing either! You can have good drama, like a good TV series making a return. Tagging people online just in case - apologies in advance if you didn't want to be tagged. Feel free to ignore the tag! @Tiny_leaf @aebarrie12 @gmusicj @Anonymous

I guess what I'm picking up is that we all kinda don't know how to act in new situations, right? I don't about you all but I'm one of those classic overthinkers where I unconsciously (and consciously) analyze everything someone does, no matter how minor. Folded arms? Gosh, I must be so boring. Body slightly turning away? I guess that means you want to leave. Perhaps one suggestion is to talk to people with your eyes closed? :P haha

Do you still have any friends from high school and how do you make time to connect with each other now you are out of school? Yep. Friends from 5 years ago whom I talk to only a handful of times a year. Perks of doing a double degree I think is that people are graduated before you as well! I talk with them a bit online but we make time only a couple times a year for those I talk to on a consistent basis. I think with this day and age, a lot of people are able to keep in touch online so it diminishes the need to physically see them (as often). Whether they did this more often before than not, I have no idea XD.

Cheers for the tag @Jess1-RO 1. What does recovery mean to you? Recovery means (at this point in time) being able to heal, though not necessarily cure (a topic for a different day), what was. For me, it's like repairing something as best as possible to the way it once was - it'll never be exactly the same as it was but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. That experience of recovery is something you'd never have known if it wasn't for whatever put you in that situation in the first place, and you may feel even better than before. It's important to constantly have the expectation that recovery is almost never a one-trial learning experience - it usually just doesn't work after one day. Even when it feels like you're "back", recovery means preparing for those situations which can bring you right back to square one, which can really feel sucky since it gives a sense of zero progression. So the recognition of the journey and effort is more important than the end result and "recovery" itself. 2. Is there a gif or image that represents your understanding or experience of recovery? Easy. My profile pic, which for me, represents that "feeling" of recovery.

Not being able to be there for him is definitely a tough feeling! Are you able to keep in contact with him in any way? From my experience, after the first event, my sister and I have a separate chatroom where I'm able to check how she's doing, even when she is at the hospital and doesn't want our parents to know. Have you got anything similar to that which you could do? As far as telling your brother you love him a little more/being there for him, I'd say do what your gut tells you. I wish I could tell you how he is but unfortunately that's a little beyond my abilities :( My suggestion again comes from my experience - I've never told my sister explicitly that I love her or that I'd be there for her, perhaps because I'm quite awkward at expressing my feelings. However, whenever she needs me, I'm there for her and she knows that - whether it be sending her a funny meme every now and then or quoting random movie lines that just made us laugh in the past. It's not exactly a universal thing but is there perhaps something your brother and you have fond memories of? Perhaps you could explore something like that to tailor how you would show your brother support? That sounds like a lot for one day! Any chance of a small break in between them for a little breathing room, like sitting in the sun doing nothing for 5 minutes? Sorry about it being a bit wordy! I tend to ramble on a little bit so let me know if you want me to dial it back. EDIT: I'm logging off now - like you, I have to wake up earlier tomorrow. Feel free to reply if you'd like and I'll be able to read it tomorrow, or perhaps someone else will. All the best for tomorrow! Based on what I read, you're an absolutely amazing and caring person so I know you'll do your best on everything! Remember that we're behind you all the way

Nice to meet you too @Bananatime04! I'm don't mind going through them - I like getting to know people. Sorry to hear that you're struggling with....your brother I believe? Would you like to talk about that or perhaps something a little less heavy? I don't mind either way but just know that I do sympathise with you since I've got a bit of unfortunate experience with my sister doing the same thing as well - thus the reason why I joined RO in the first place!

Hey @aebarrie12, If it’s ok with you, are you able to explain a bit more about the scenario surrounding the bet? Like for example, was it in a casino or something like that? Was the bet just a verbal promise? Rest assured, we’re here to help as much as possible! 🙂

Once again attempting to slowly make it back on :) If you could control any element, what would it be? Oh gosh, I really need to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender again! If I could choose just one, I guess it'd be airbending. There's something nice about the idea of not really being tethered to the ground haha. Although that is just flight I guess lol. == What is your favourite snack? Excellent, I love this question. Only figured it out last year and it's extremely specific and weird. Seaweed crackers and avocado dip (w/o the cream cheese in it). Weird, right? Totally awesome, right? == What are you going to do during your holidays (if you have any this month)? Uni work as usual. Plenty to do and so little time! == What gets you motivated? I'm still figuring that out :P == What's your favourite song to dance and sing to? ANYTHING. I don't know how to describe it but I really just enjoy music in general haha

I've tried face to face so far @Bee. I texted them yesterday and they haven't gotten back to me yet. They could honestly be busy as far as I know so I won't assume anything right now. As of now, I'm still clinging on that chance that things might be fixed but that could be biased on my end only because I thought we got along quite well at the beginning. This, I'd have to say, would be my final go at it before giving up. That's the tricky bit @letitgo! There's very few people who can do the times which I'm doing and I think people are starting to notice my changing behaviour. I actually did try asking some mutual friends but they don't know much either. I don't know how I'm going to create more distance so that I can get over this when the time comes, short of constantly cancelling my shifts altogether every single time I have to work with them. From what I've observed though, their behaviour towards anyone else hasn't changed at all, just with me unfortunately. For all I know, I could be wrong and this might be a huge overreaction but the lack of communication makes it truly hard to actually tell what actually happened and I'd prefer not to burn the bridge haphazardly since I believe everyone deserves a chance to explain and be heard. I really do appreciate the support right now, so thanks :)

Hey folks, I haven't been on for a while since I've been dealing with a whole lot of issues all of a sudden, so sorry about that. I do want to share one of them with you all though because it might be hurting me quite a bit. So there's someone at work who I got along really well with at the beginning about 4 months back and I really did enjoyed talking and hanging out with them until the start of April where it suddenly felt like it dropped off almost entirely. Since then, we've barely talked to each other and I've tried to contact them to chat about it but they were really defensive about it and I feel like it just made things worse. At this point, I'm getting a bit concerned that it's turning into a toxic friendship (not sure if I can call it a friendship anymore). I've tried giving them the benefit of the doubt several times as well, that maybe they had a bad day or that they're going through something of their own but it's happened so many times and so consistently that I'm not sure if I should still be doing this anymore. I will admit that I may have done something to upset them but I'm not even sure what it could have been, despite racking my brain for ages. I'm honestly not sure which path I should be going right now, especially since I still have to be working with them at least once a week. One thing I have learnt from here is that I do need a backup plan. If things do start feeling worse than they do now or affecting me in a larger way, I'll book another appointment with a counsellor. Right now, it just feels like it's in that weird grey area and it could go either way. I would absolutely love some advice, so thank you so much in advance! :)

Slowly making my way back on the forums so there's no better place to start than here. Going through a bit of a big change at the moment so bear with me! Excited to see more of you all around :) 1. What's your favourite way to relax as the weather gets colder? Hiding under the bed covers. Easy :) 2. Which song do you have on repeat right now? Cold Blood - Dave Not Dave 3. Should cereal be classed as a soup? Why/why not? Haha, I've never thought about it! I'd have to say no only because I thought soups were always cooked. Unless I'm missing something? 4. British or American comedy? American. I don't know why but there's something off with the British accent for comedy 5. What's one thing you're looking forward to this month? Going to visit my friend interstate soon!

As far as I know @j95, it might cost extra to bring a skateboard in check-in but sometimes it gets classed as a separate baggage under "oversized" through the carousel. Since it's a domestic flight, a skateboard might be allowed as carry-on but I'd recommend calling the flight company to see if they're ok with it. There's always that risk though. I've bought a tennis racquet in my carry on before because I said it was for a sport and I called ahead of time to make sure because I paid $200 for it and I wasn't going to lose it. Not sure if I'm going to bring it on a flight again though, I can't afford losing it. If you have a board bag, maybe use that? And check it in under fragile so they don't scratch it and all.

That's cool @FootyFan26. I always have to talk to my aunts to translate to my grandparents since they don't know english so you learning to speak to them in their native tongue is heart-warming :) (Btw, try a nutella and banana sandwich. I know a friend who is pretty much aiming to do the same thing as you and they recently just got a graduate position in Sydney doing that. Apparently there were only 18 people who applied! I gotta try some then but I didn't remember them having it on the menu where I am. We have a place called Grease Monkey here and apparently they do aMaZiNg burgers but I haven't had the chance to try it yet because I only recently found out they did burgers and not tyres :P Yeah I didn't know either for a while @missep. Pre-made workout calendars sound like a great idea @FootyFan26. I reckon I might steal that idea from you ;) What would you say eating healthy would look like at the end of the year that you'll be able to say it was successful? Daily healthy snacks at a specific time instead of random snacks? (I know I won't be able to achieve that haha) That sounds like awesome goals @j95. Would you say this plan that you made with Ben before would still be helpful? And I absolutely love that you want to be a supportive role model for your siblings, that's awesome!
