Hi @pdoyl19

I can understand how you are feeling! sometimes it is so frustrating as the thought of having anxiety makes you anxious. its a bit backwards. I think what has helped me in the past is to remove myself from my thoughts at that time and completly switch what im doing. Then i can review the situation with a fresh mind. But keep in mind things that may seem small to people without anxiety can be abig deal for people with anxiety and that is okay because im sure those other people struggle with other parts of life. Nobody is perfect.

Feel free to ask me any questions 🌸

Hey @pdoyl19

Anxiety isn't fun at all. It can be really hard to feel like you're not in control and like your mind and heart are racing.

Are you able to share more about what small things may be triggering you and making you feel freaked out? Only what you're comfortable with of course.

What kinds of things do you do to ground yourself when you're feeling this way? When I notice myself feeling anxious, I first try to close my eyes and take 3 deep breaths.

I hope you're feeling ok today ❤️

Hey @pdoyl19

Anxiety is not fun 😔 But I'm really glad to see you've opened up the conversation here and have shared how it makes you feel.

Have you been able to find anything that helps you when you're feeling freaked out? We have some suggestions here if you'd like some ideas to try out! Have you talked to a GP or a therapist at all about feeling anxious?

I also sent you an email, so look out for that coming your way soon 😊

Hi @pdoyl19

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with anxiety. It can be really challenging to deal with those overwhelming feelings. You're definitely not alone, and there are certainly times when i feel worried and anxious about certain things.

I am wondering if you know what triggers these feelings for you? For me, personally, I know around exam time I get very stressed and this sometimes can cause me to get anxious about other small things. A great strategy that has helped me manage anxiety is meditation and running.

Practising these self-care and relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation has really assisted in allowing me to have a healthy outlet for my stress.

Just remember to take it one step at a time, and be patient with yourself as you work towards finding what works best for you and the community here at RO are always here if you need to speak 🥰

Hi @pdoyl19

Thank you for sharing that with me, it must be difficult to experience both exam and family stress together.

I am wondering if there is someone you can speak to that you trust so that they can support you whenever you are feeling anxious or worried about family and/or exams?
