TW: Abuse, loss. Still Struggling with Grief

I lost my mum 3 years ago.

I was already suffering from serve mental health conditions before this happened, after being assualt and almost abducted, my mother having health issues, my dad being gay and my brother being addicted to drugs and very abusive.

I was suffering at the time with PTSD, BPD, MDD, GAD and more and then we had to go to the vets and put the dog to sleep, 25 min after the dog was put to sleep, I watched my mum get into the car, have a complete cardiac failure and die, and from this I have serve PTSD.

Does anyone have any ideas of ways to try and move on from this situation

@mrose  I am so sorry for the loss of your mum and dog and for everything else that's happened to you. 😞 You've been through so much and life hasn't been fair to you at all.
I think it was very brave of you to share what you've gone through on here. It isn't always easy to reach out and ask for support. Heart

I was also diagnosed with PTSD. I think that your experiences may always be a part of you, but with the right support, the impact on your life can be minimised.
Have you got any supports around you? I found that seeing a psychologist was helpful for me.

Hi @mrose ,

Thank you so much for reaching out here, we are very glad that you have found this space and hope the community here can give you advice and support.

We are very sorry to read about the trauma that you have experienced, and I'm so sorry that you have lost your mum in such awful circumstances. You have shown a lot of strength in sharing these incredibly difficult experiences here. Living with grief and loss can be especially hard at this time of year, and ReachOut have a lot of resources around this with some ideas of how you can take care of yourself, where to find professional help, and shared stories from other people  here

I hear that you have also been living with mental health issues, a lot of other community members here also live with complex conditions - you are not alone, and we're sure they can give you advice and support.  Are you seeing a psychologist at the moment?

Finally, I just wanted to let you know that I've edited your post to include a trigger warning for other community members, in line with our community guidelines which are here .

Welcome back!
