Schools in 4 days,

So my eardrum is healed apparently but my ear canal is still inflamed, I was prescribed with eardrops but they suck, they glue in my ear forever and I swear I have tinnitus now. I'm not sure if its doing its job or not so I decided to book another appointment... only to realise the next time its free is 4:10pm next week.

Schools going to be overwhelming and dreadful as is, and I just don't think things will go uphill.

Hi @yeah_it_tahtperson, thank you for the update. How are you feeling after your visit to the doctor and hearing this news? It's not always helpful when someone tells you to move on from something when it is causing a lot of trouble for you. I imagine this would have been really frustrating for you to hear, especially if you're still dealing with the pain.

I read that you have been feeling unmotivated and like there is nothing to look forward to at school. I just wanted to check in and see how school went for you this week?

Hi @Sally_RO ,

its both reliving and confusing but I trust my GP so its fine.

Schools kinda just boring for me, although I have excursions and student free days a while away so hopefully that keeps me motivated.

Hey @yeah_it_tahtperson

I'm so sorry that the ear situation continues to be a hassle for you, its been going on for a while now so I can understand how you would want it to be sorted already đź’—

Is there anything in particular at school that's bothering you, or are you feeling kinda blah about it overall? Do you have any plans to do stuff over the weekend?

Hey,

Yeah im feeling blah overall, just gonna rest and relax this weekend might go out this weekend. i need to get a new watch I accidentally broke the metal part of mine, it still shows the time but I cant wear it on my wrist. Not too angry about it considering it was $9, but all the good digital watches are all sold online which sucks

Hey @yeah_it_tahtperson it sounds like a relaxing weekend is a good plan, especially after the stressful few weeks you've had. Is there something nice you can do for yourself to help you relax?

I'm sorry to hear that your watch broke too, that sounds really frustrating. It's hard when everything is sold online now and you can't see them before you buy them. Are there any stores near you that you might be able to visit and see what they have on offer? I hope your able to find one soon!

Hi @Courtney-RO

Yeah I'll probably go out with my friends next week to reconnect. I'll have the opportunity to buy a watch at K-Mart there which will be convenient and suffice for the time being.

Hey @yeah_it_tahtperson

With the metal part of the watch, is it something that maybe a watchmaker could fix? Just wondering if it's repairable if you can't find another watch that you like.

Hope you're keeping well, and good to hear that you're planning to get out and see you're friends.

How's the ear situation progressing?

Hi @yeah_it_tahtperson

I hope your eardrum recovery is going well. It does suck that you can't get an appointment sooner and that you have to push through everything and go back to school soon. I understand why you would feel overwhelmed. Is there any way for you to get an exception and maybe do school from home or online somehow and explain why you are not feeling well?

I also read your reply about not feeling excited or motivated about school. You are not alone in this. To be honest I wasn't too excited for school either but there is still importance in going and pushing through things despite it not being the most fun. Do you have any support at school that might make your return feel any easier or more bearable?

Hope you are well đź’™

Hey @yeah_it_tahtperson , I'm sorry to hear that your ear is still giving you some trouble. That really sucks that the eardrops aren't working for you, particularly if you can't get into the doctor for a while. Do you have any options to relieve the pain or make yourself a little more comfortable in the meantime? Thinking of you, there's nothing worse than constant discomfort or niggling pain that you just can't shake.

It sounds like you're not really looking forward to going back to school (which I totally get), is there anything in particular that makes you think it might be overwhelming?

Hi @Portia_RO, unfortunately, no other ways to heal the pain aside panadols.

I think in school I just have no motivation as there isn't much to look forward to, nothing feels exciting sometimes.

Ahhh I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing pain @yeah_it_tahtperson. I hope that the panadol gives you some relief. It is so frustrating to have to wait until next week for a follow up appointment  Smiley Sad I hope the week goes quickly for you.

School can be a drain so I get why you might be feeling a sense of dread and lack of motivation. Do you think there would be a way to give yourself something to look forward to?
