Weekly Wellbeing: Casual COVID Catch up (For Family and Friends)
As we continue to make it through COVID and a potential extended lockdown for Sydney, It's important that we don't neglect to check in on those we hold close. 😀
Personally, because of uni, I have been so busy that I haven't had the chance to talk to any of my friends, and with lockdown happening during my break, plans to hang out have been canceled 😖. BUT we should still take the same to send our family and friends a message to let them know we are thinking about them. Make the most of the time we have on our hands 👬👭👫
Something casual, something small. That's how it starts.
This week's wellbeing activity will be reaching out to 3 people who you have been meaning to talk to (that you haven't gotten the chance to do), and starting a casual catch-up! 📲 If you're are comfortable sharing, reply to this post with what 3 topics or introductions you used in order to start your casual covid catch-up. ✍️.
Some conversation starters if anyone needs help! If you guys have any tips for reaching out and connecting with people make sure to let us know below!
- Hey ___ sorry I've been distant lately, I've been really busy with ___. How have you been?
- Hi ___ I saw on instagram/facebook/snapcat that you did ___, that looks so fun!
- ___ so tell me, how has covid ruined your holiday. sucks that we cant catch up IRL but how are you?

What a great wellbeing activity!
I'd like to send some letters or messages to some nursing home residents I know through my volunteering. Some of them don't have family in Sydney and their visits are limited so things are pretty tough right now for them. I've already written some messages I need to send.
That is so wholesome and I'm sure they really appreciate and look forward to those letters. It's really important to look out for one another during this, and you are doing an amazing job.
Is it like through an email or more of a handwritten message?
@Anzelmo The nursing home ended up asking me to email the pastoral person and he agreed to read out the messages. 🙂
That's so great! Hopefully, you get to hear back from them as well and get to know what they think. I'm sure it made them smile.
@WheresMySquishy that is so lovely! I'm sure they would really love to hear your messages, especially right now! It's great that you volunteer to help others 😊
How lovely!! I'll reach out to some friends I haven't talked to in a while and make sure they're doing alright in Sydney lockdown. ❤️
@ayrc_1904 that's so good! It's definitely times like this that we need our friends the most 💙
