Thank you for posting this, it's so important to make space for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. The other week whilst at university, I learnt how to make Aboriginal accessories using weaving techniques taught to us by an Aunty who is a practising artist. It was so interesting hearing about the various things that are made using these weaving techniques as well as the importance of not cutting and throwing away materials. I also learnt that the material isn't to be knotted, but instead weaved in with your work. I would love to see more representation of Indigenous art within my community as it's so beautiful and intricate!😊
Thanks @Onion for putting this up. It has been so a tough year for many people in the First Nation's community- especially with racism so prominent every where we turn. My promise and my responsibility as an ally is to continue to show up and contribute to a better tomorrow for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in anyway I can. Standing with you through this with hope for a better future.
