hey @Jardin I know I'm super late to the party but thought I'd reply on the off chance you see it or someone else in a similar situation does 😊
I definitely understand where you're coming from. I very rarely drink these days. I used to drink pretty frequently, and I can tell you that you're not missing out on that much by choosing to abstain. I've found though that quality people though will respect what you choose to do with your body. In my group of friends, we have people that use substances recreationally, people who only drink, and people who completely abstain. This doesn't cause an issue though because we all respect each other's choices and are happy to be in each other's company regardless.
What I'd recommend doing is still going out with your uni friends but not drinking, if you feel comfortable doing so. people worth hanging around will respect a simple "I don't want to drink" and leave it at that. Most people in my experience don't care if you drink or not, as long as you're not being judgemental of the fact others are drinking. if you do wanna blend in though in a club/bar setting, you can still order non-alcoholic drinks at the bar (eg soda water over ice with lemon) that make you look the part without getting you drunk obviously haha.
best of luck with everything! 💙
