I'm sorry you have to wait a week to speak to your counsellor @Lost_Space_Explorer5 - that must be hard when you're going through a tough time.

Journalling or drawing sounds like a good plan in the meantime - is that something you'd find helpful to share with your psychologist or counsellor?

For what it's worth when it comes to the lie at your volunteering, I can understand why that would be hard - I hate lying too and I'm terrible at it.
In some settings it is necessary though - I remember once saying to an ethics lecturer that I can't ever lie, and they said to me "what about if you were in WW2 and you were hiding someone from the Nazis - would you lie then?" It made me realise that it's not black and white and sometimes lies can be tools for good. It's hard when you're put on the spot though.

I hope you can be kind to yourself @Lost_Space_Explorer5

It can be tempting to compare ourselves to others and to think they look more competent or together than us, but actually I think a lot of people are struggling and feeling like they don't measure up.

None of us are perfect, we all have bad days, things go wrong and it's disappointing and stressful, but it does pass eventually.
For what it's worth, I see your wisdom and your capacity to offer peer support, and I think it would be a loss for others not to get to experience that if it's something you want to continue doing. 💛

How are things today?
