Hi @Jardin, thanks for sharing. This is a personal preference and it totally depends on how you are feeling about it all. If it were me, I would like to tell them ahead of time so that I can spend some time with them or have a little going away party. If you tell them closer to the move, it might come across as more of a shock and you might not have a lot of time to say goodbye. However, you might not care so much about saying goodbye, especially if you don't plan on keeping in contact or you aren't that close.. that is totally fine too! Whatever you think works best for you 
It might help to think of a rationale behind both options which you can share here if you'd like some more help deciding.
