Hey @Amyyyy I'm so sorry this happened to you, but I'm glad the police understood your situation. I know someone who this happened to in very similar circumstances when they were looking to move into the share house with this person, though I don't think the police were called. They are also a very proud LGBT+ advocate so it was super upsetting. I know this person ended up getting help from a counsellor at the university because it was a very traumatic event. Do you have anyone to support your experience and how you're feeling about it?
As the police have said they believe you, its unlikely that they'll come back unless something else comes up (they would be the ones choosing whether to press any charges). However, my friend who lived with that person made sure to keep records of what had happened, any texts that might be taken out of context etc. It really helped her peace of mind but luckily she didn't really have to use them outside of a rent dispute!
