Your Filter
Hi y’all 🤠
As of recently I’ve been trying to improve myself to help both myself and my friendships grow. I’ve been taking in a lot of self help and self awareness knowledge and in the process came across one about filters. No matter who you are, you have a filter that you put people through, you put their actions through the same one. Everyone’s filter and perspective is different but some may be able to relate to mine. I’m currently working on my filter to be better, once you are aware of what your filter is you can rationalise everything a lot easier. And the best part is once you are aware of what your filter is you can consciously make the decision to change it, hopefully for the better.
Below is what I’ve decided to change my filter to, because the way I used to deal with issues was unhealthy for myself and others. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic :))
My new filter
.
Always have an open mindset, talk and get to know them more and understand them as people. If a friend introduces you or you have mutual friends they’re probably a really cool and good person.
Get to know why they are a good person.
Always inspire, build them up so they believe in their success. No matter how much they don’t believe in themselves you have to, push them towards their goals, push them to do good, push them to seek more.
Inspire.
If they do something negative towards you or give you negative feedback, understand why, there’s always a good reason so talk to them and understand why, have an open mindset and be empathetic and respectful.
Be open minded, empathetic & respectful.
Mend any problems or issues that may have occurred, never loose a true friend and never risk the friendship over anything because it’s not worth it, life’s better with good friends and companionship.
It’s easier to forgive than forget, never loose a true friendship.
