Alot of those worries and 'what if' questions you mention sound normal to me but for sure, it can definitely be hard to be patient during the 'limbo' time of waiting for treatment after a diagnosis. I completely agree about finding ways to 'accept' that the wait/limbo period sucks and focusing more on what's in your control like you are with the knit beanie factory. I think its great that you're doing that, especially as winter upon us and its something you can control unlike wait times.
