@Sophia-RO thank you for inviting me to consider the reasons why it's helpful to take a break, I'm going to list some of them here so it feels like I'm committing to them.
- Spending more time with my family
- Allowing myself to adapt to new diagnoses, medications etc without the pressure of needing to perform at work or study
- Choosing to be surrounded by my support system during this time rather than all alone
- Waiting until I feel strong and confident so I can make decisions that align with my values, not ones based on fear or "should"s
- Putting myself first by listening to my instincts on what I need right now
My most important thing I want from the psychiatrist's treatment is to find a way to feel present in life and feel truly alive. And I am hoping they will help untangle my mental health so I understand why I feel the way I do rather than just existing as a non-specific blob of struggle and strife I can't make sense of.
