There’s a common theory that introverts enjoying spending time by themselves more than extroverts – do you agree or disagree with this and why?
i disagree. by every personality test that i do im an extrovery - but i love spending time by myself. Maybe i cant last as long as an introvert in my own company but it doesnt mean i dont treasure it as much as an introvert.

@delicatedreamer it does leave you open to rumination.... so how do you think you could combat this? I think for me its making a bit of a plan to avoid those thoughts and not throwing myself into a day by myself without something to do otherwise i would get sad

What are some of the advantages/ positives of your own company, and how can you achieve this by yourself?
i think we have all mentioned tonight the value of learning/ or actaully spending time in your own company!
and they seem to stem down too learning more about yourself, slowing yourself down, self reflection, stress reduction
ways to acheive it by yourself well i think its important to set yourself up properly - have some things to do that you like diong and then someone to talk to or see if/when you are done.
learning to enjoy your own company takes time... but its worth it

@_sagira_ isn't there a famous saying like "learn to date/love yourself, before you can date/love yourself" i guess being alone is the foundation for that because you will be with 'you' for the rest of your life

@Alskies Thats a good point- enjoy being alone in case it happens for longer than anticipated at some point in your life. Which I'm sure it will for all of us whether a few hours or days

Why is it important that we learn how to enjoy our own company?
When i first started living by myself i hated it, i thought it meant i would be alone forever.
However the more i got used to it the more i have come to enjoy it and crave it. Im onw of those people who used to hate thier own company, now im pretty content. I realise when enough is enough and i need to reachout to a friend or call someone or go for a walk but now when i go back home and see everyone back to back i actually get tired its like im not socialliy fit haha.
I think its imporant because you need to be able to know yourself in order to know what you like and who you want to be with
