Ha! Seems like good timing for this chat, also something you can read back on if it's too close to home today 😊

I also find this topic relevant at the moment! We're currently researching alternatives to the HSC for my sister, such as doing TAFE.

That is such a wonderful thing to consider, I'm a huge advocate for TAFE as everyone will discover this evening lol

TAFE is the best! My mum is doing a TAFE course now (wooo, changing life paths after your 20s!) and I love the structure, it's better than uni IMO.

@Hozzles  I love that your mum is studying at TAFE- I'm a massive fan of changing career directions, when you think about it, it's pretty wild that there's this idea that we will all choose the 'right' path at 18, and then just head on merrily down that road!

I am now in a completely different area from my first uni degree- I went back to study as a single mum in my mid-twenties, and my mum is my absolute hero and role model- she went back to study in her 40s, and ended up completing her PhD at 47. She's still working professionally, has had a super interesting career, and it was such a proud moment for me to go to her PhD graduation as a teenager.

It is never too late- and I actually got so much more out of study as a mature age student with life experience and a diverse work history than I did as a naive 17 year old!
