So while the guys are chatting, I want to know do you (or did you) have a plan for after year 12? What can you do to help make it happen?

Awesome question!!
If I get this apprenticeship I will be at Tafe, so I'm not even in year 12 but this conversation can still be pretty helpful.

I definitely agree with you @j95 , a lot of what we'll be covering tonight will be applicable to people who aren't in year 12

Before exams, stress levels can sky rocket. What’s your go-to stress buster before a big exam?
I usually try to minimise the stress I go through by breaking up what I have to do into manageable parts and planning them out over the time before exams, but I like to do things that absorb me completely, like going for a bike ride or reading a book. I like to forget my responsibilities for a while so I can come back to them more refreshed

MUSIC! I pretty much find the most happy/relaxing songs I can and listen to them on repeat.

@j95 definitely! I worried so much about getting the best ATAR, and three years on I don't think I even remember the number 😛

I feel like their is so much pressure on me to do well since everyone else in my family who have done in their HSC have done so well. What if I don't do as well as they expect me to?

Hey @kitty_kat_13 - I can totally relate! I felt a lot of pressure to do well too - and guess what - I totally bombed! I was so scared of what people would think, but they loved me all the same and were so supportive! Online Community Manager

Welcome @kitty_kat_13
I think your question is one of the reasons this campaign was created. There is life after year 12 exams! Looking forward to hearing @AndrewMorley's response

If I have an afternoon exam, then that morning I EXERCISE. Oh my goodness, it feels so amazing to get out and run off all the emotions I'm feeling about the exam. I have done exceptionally well in all the exams I have done where I've gone for a run beforehand!
In general I try and practice self care as much as possible. I make sure I continue talking to people and seeing people. I play my guitar and listen to music. I give myself guilt free time off to clear my head 🙂

@AndrewMorley you mentioned starting out in Engineering... so my question is how did you end up in acting? Seems like stepping into a completely different universe really!

@j95 I wish my school had spoken more about options outside of uni!! I think uni is for me personally, but I know so many people who went to uni and did a course they didn't enjoy because they didn't know there was much else. I think some schools put a lot of emphasis on university entrance over other options

I agree.I also feel a lot of people look at their scores and pick a course around that, rather than what they are actually interested in doing. I'm guilty of that!
Some of my closest mates never went to uni and they are just as happy and successful.
There are so many options out there. We just need to find what resonates with us.

Same! So many of my friends went straight into uni because it was the expected thing to do - only to realise they didn't enjoy what they were doing and end up changing courses or leaving uni altogether anyway!
