GOALS~~

 

 

Hey guys!

So I had a pretty bad weekend and after all of it I figured out ( @sunflowers5 thank you ) that I needed some goals and to sort start fresh a little bit. I thought I should share as I'm pretty happy with this and hopefully it helps some of you to think about setting some goals. So I have long term and short term and I put for some of them how long it might take and a little check box. 

I do understand we have a daily goal setting thread on here which is awesome!! But these are little more in depth. The first thing I am aiming for on the long term list is moving away, it will take a while and a bit of convincing but sometimes its good to get away from it all (so

Maybe just a holiday for now). My short term goals can sort of be done all at once and sort of help each other, a better night sleep will help my mental health and that sort of thing. Now its your turn! You can write or just post. Hope my writing is not too messy for you all.

This looks awesome @j95 ! Hopefully you can get what you want/need out of these goals.
I'd love to hear how you go with some of them, which ones you found the hardest etc. Smiley Happy

Aww nice one Smiley Happy This is something I definitely need as my mind is so crazy right now. Writing it down will help me visualize it Smiley Happy 

 

Short Term: 3-6months

1. Go visit my family on holiday and have a blast 

2. Get more job training in NZ which should be awesome 

3. Work on calming, relaxing, coping strategies to deal with my anger and stress 

4. Get in a good routine - God time, health, fitness and mental health 

5. Get a second job and save 

 

Long Term: 1-2years

1. Get a full time job 

2. Move out 

3. Get a new car 

4. Help my Boyfriend move over here (visa)

5. Get more friend (no social life Smiley Sad )

Looks good @j95 ! If you think your writing is messy i'm pretty sure seeing mine would quickly change your perspective. 

 

Here's mine:

 

Short Term

Improve my work-life balance. Too much work and no play!

Study hard to smash my essay and final exam this semester

Make time for running

Eat healthier!

 

Long Term

Spend a year in a different country. 

Start a band and do regular local gigs. 

Look into the possibility of working overseas.

Love these short & long term goals! Something that I find helpful with long term goals is to break them up into smaller parts. What do you need to do to get to that goal? Work backwards from the end goal until today, and you'll figure out the things that you need to start doing today to reach that goal.
Say for example @j95 's goal of moving interstate/overseas.

1. Set up a savings plan (you can start that today!)
2. Research Brisbane, Central coast, NZ more & weigh up the pros&cons
3. Travel to the place for a visit first
4. Research job opportunities & real estate (do you want to find a job before you go, are you going to rent etc?)
5.etc etc

Well @Sophie-RO Brisbane apparently just got mcdonalds delivery service so thats a pretty big pro.

I have looked at those places, the thing is I need to save up if we're going to move but also I need go on a visit to each place, so saving = difficult. haha, long process! But I'm looking in to all the places a lot. I have a lot of crap to get away from yeah sure, but its going to take a lot of convincing for someone else haha.... we will see!!

Seriously thinking about packing up and going but its obviously not that easy.

Short term goals:
>get on the right meds
>get back into my artwork
> get into tafe if I can

Long term:
> go to England to meet a close friend
> get into bible college over seas
> quit self harm for good
> get out of the mental health system and be recovered
> get my art work exhibited

Hi all!!

 

Short term goals:

 - Do my best on my exams

 - Finish organising for an event that I am co-hosting (!!!!)

 - Start working out more regularly again

 

Long term goals:

 - Finish my undergrad degree

 - Explore my home country (and also learn the history and culture properly)

 - Relearn my mother tongue

 - Visit at least one country (other than where I was born)
