Songs, and the messages and emotions within them...

Hey guys. I made this thread, to ask what your favourite songs are, why you like it, and what the meaning/emotions are.

Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx I've been listening and singing along to Glycerine by Bush past few days. I think it's about a failed relationship. I also love Powderfinger, Monsters and Men, The Naked and Famous, Rudemental, Boy and Bear, etc

Hey @dncinginthedirt. I listen to Rudemental too. My dad loves Powderfinger also, which is hilarious. He doesn't normally have good artists for his songs... lol.
The others are pretty good too. But what emotions/messages do you hear? And what's your fave song?

Hi @xXLexi_Lou122Xx ,

Thanks for sharing your songs!

I am always looking for new stuff to listen to on my bus ride so I'll have to give them a listen. I also really love Meg Mac... her cover of Grandma's Hands is so soulful. I always interpret as someone who was going through something who had their grandma as a support system and now they don't and they are figuring out how to do it on their own. Maybe that is the meaning who knows?

I find music super therapeutic.

Do you ever find the meaning of a song changes over time as your in a different spot in your life?

Songs can be so amazing! I'm feeling a bit lazy today, so I'm just going to link in where I've already shared some of my favourite songs. These ones are definitely all feel-good/pick me up songs. I very much prefer high-energy songs.

There's this list from the thread "Pick Me Up Songs"

and

These ones from the thread "Self Love Songs"

That's Great @N1ghtW1ng! I'll look at those too.
@Tasi, Yes, the meanings in songs do change after a while. At least, you aren't the only one...

Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx ,

This is a cool thread.... I am really big Hozier fan and I find meaning in pretty much all of his songs. Really sappy but his song 'Movement' always makes me think of my partner and how much what we do can affect the people in our lives.

What about you? Were you thinking of any songs when you made the post?

Hey @Tasi.
I did have a song in mind, but it's more relatable to how I feel at the time.
I'm an NF fan of 'Paralysed', because it basically shows what I am at school.
Otherwise, I love Hillsong, Rend Collective, Bebe Rhexa, P!ATD, Corey Asbury, and definitely Faydee's 'Unbreakable'.
'Unbreakable' is basically a song, that is depressing in the verses, but the chorus is amazing. It tells me that I shouldn't let others bring me down, even if they are the really mean kind of person.

'Paralysed' is saying that, something is wrong, and I can't do anything about it.
Everything that I do is wrong, when it's not really, and the other people in my life make me pay for it.

Those are the two songs I feel for now.
I have to go and get ready for school now. Talk later...

(Help me. Please. I don't know how to survive this week!) =_=

Hey @xXLexi_Lou122Xx , thanks for sharing your songs. Unbreakable seems like it has such a great message to remember - not letting other people get you down.

One of my fave emotional songs is Ex-Factor by Lauryn Hill, it's her singing about a break up and is uplifting even though it's a bit sad.

You mentioned you're not sure how you'll survive this week. Is there anything specific coming up that you're worried about which we might be able to help with?

There isn't really anything you guys can do. I'm alone at school. I have no friends at all. They are too busy to hang out with me. Anyways, Back to the subject at hand.

Thanks @Alice-RO. I'll go and listen to that one! Thanks for your concern. I'm trying so very hard to make friends, but every friend I make turns their back on me, or moves to a different school/state/country.

Welcome back!
