WW Activity - Food and mindful eating- 13th March
This week's activity centre's on one of my favourite things in the world - food!
Eating mindfully is a great self-care activity. Not only does it increase our awareness of taste, and thus the joy we get from eating, but it can also increase our awareness of being full or hungry, as well as what specific food our body is craving.
This week's activity: seek out and enjoy a snack or meal that you love!
It could be a muffin of donut from a hipster bakery, a coffee, a cheap chocolate bar from the 7/11, or something you can make at home!
Just pick something you love.
Before you eat:
Sit somewhere quiet, either by yourself or with someone else.
Put away your phone.
Get away from the TV or laptop.
Look at the food and think about where it came from and what's in it.
When you're eating:
Take the time to really notice each bite.
Think about the flavours.
Think about why you love this food.
Report back! What did you eat? How was the experience of eating it mindfully?
Do you have any other tips for mindful eating?

@letitgo @Esperanza67 @May_ @Hozzles @Maddyw @ecla34 love everyone's contributions here!!
Food can be such a good way to self-care!!!
Sensory mindfulness - focusing on each of your senses, is a great thing to do with food.
All the senses are involved -
touch
smell
sight
taste
feel
Happy mindful eating everyone!
Ok I'm going to go first on this one - my housemate brought home a delicious assortment of donuts today, and I enjoyed the rocky road one VERY much.
Savouring the tase made it last a bit longer, and it was a nice break from my computer screen!
@gina-RO eating/making food more mindfully is something i've been trying to do lately, and it's really helped the way i think about eating and food 🙂
I tried eating lunch the way you described above and it got me thinking about just how much I love flavour. As in, i adore strong flavour and packing as many different tastes as i can into one bite 😄 You learn something new about yourself everyday!
