Keep the great responses coming guys.
Time for the next question.
4. Are the expectations of a man unfair in today’s society?
Yes, absolutely, but of course, let’s not forget that the expectations of women are also unfair. Both genders are socialised to think that they have to behave a certain way in order to make friends, find a partner, or progress in a career. What do you guys think?

In my experience, people are really accepting of other individuals. But I think Im fortunate in the areas that I live and work, especially with younger generations who are usually quite open and progressive
im sure theres plently of room for improvement though, but i think its not too bad at the moment, but thats just me in my small environment 😛

Society in general needs to stop expecting people to look and act a certain way. Wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same?My entire life can be described in one sentence: It didn't go as planned and that's okay. ツ

Yes @stonepixie life would suck if we were all the same.
That's what I try to remind myself everytime I realise that i'm comparing myself to someone else and feeling inadequate

Again, awesome replies everyone 🙂Next question is:
How do you think the expectations of being a man are changing? Is this a good thing?

How do you think the expectations of being a man are changing? Is this a good thing?I definitely think the expectations are heading into a more positive direction, although social media and mass media is doing it's best to stifle that positive progress!

I've never really took note to social pressures, much. I can only answer based on what I have seen. I guess they are highlighting that more body types exist which is good, but at the same time, there is still this pressure look a certain way.
I like how men are no longer seen as the sole breadwinner of the house and that there are major campaigns underway saying that it is alright to talk about your feelings.

Yeah for sure, we hear a lot about how women are underpaid and under represented in the workforce, so it seems like there is a push to rectify this- Mark as New

I really love how men are no longer seen as the breadwinner of the house too. I think we still have a long way to go but there has been some great progress.

It has been said a few times, the whole beauty industry would go broke if we all decided to love our bodies just the way they are. @FItzChivalryMy entire life can be described in one sentence: It didn't go as planned and that's okay. ツ

that's a powerful point @stonepixie
The beauty industry is masssssssiive. I can't even imagine how different things would be if we all began to appreciate our bodies the way we are.

Yes. I think the expectations for men are too high and expectations for women are too low in general. I've always wondered how these started. There must've been a time where there weren't gender stereotypes like these.

@FootyFan26 It is sad to see these stereotypes are being used today but I believe they are fading! Men are no longer expected to do everything and women are no longer thought to be able to do nothing 😛- Mark as New

it's interesting to think about a time when there weren't gender stereotypes, but in-fact they have been far worse than they are today! We still have a long way to go.

Are the expectations of a man unfair in today’s society?I would have to say the expectations of all people are probably unfair, the mixed messages that get thrown around demand impossible things of everyone, men included

agreed @FItzChivalry
They're all unrealistic expectations and we just wear ourselves out by trying to meet them!

@j95 I completely agree. The older generation do act as role models for the younger gen, I often feel prssured to behave like older males as opposed to carving out my own path- Mark as New

Where do you think the pressures that face men today come from? Is it the media, the opposite sex, or themselves?I think the media are probably the initiators... who then go on to influence the opposite sex and the men themselves.
