@FootyFan26 I guess fear is motivating however let it come internally; you wanna improve your anger for yourself.

I guess you're right @NutellaBuster but I just can't. I struggle improving anyway so I've kinda lost motivation. The next threat of a call home will probably put me in line!

I can't help it dude. I try my best but I just can't seem to fix anything. I need some motivation soon though 'cause I'm on the verge of giving up.

@FootyFan26 Hey it's alright. You got this 🙂 be confident and keep your head up.

@FootyFan26 Great to hear that you're taking some steps to improve how you handle your anger. You're not alone! Anger is a tough demon to beat, but it's not impossible to mellow out and to change.

@j95 Looks like being healthy is on everyone's list!

What part of your life do you want to improve and what motivates you to get there?

I want to start sleeping earlier because I realise I've been staying up way too late. And sometimes that leaves me feeling groggy in the morning or I end up taking an afternoon nap to catch up on my sleep.

So I guess knowing the consequences of not doing what's good for you, is a motivation for me

@ryvb3 If i can do it, you can too 😛

My sleeping habits for starters, but I know the only way to fix them is to ground myself as the first thing to go when in survival mode is regular sleeping patterns. Grr!

Basically everything around getting healthy and it is very hard to find motivation as the littlest things and trip me up.

@NutellaBuster Gah! I wish! It will take more than motivation.

4. What motivates you most? Is it something internal (ambition) or external (loved ones)?

I'm not sure. I think, for me, I'm motivated by my families past mistakes. I don't want to end up like my parents and I want to do something with my life. So although I don't like either of my parents and they have been no good to me for my entire life I am motivated by that. I also want to be a good role model for my brother so I'm always trying to be the best person I can be.

That's pretty relatable @j95. It's good that you can see others mistakes and ensure you don't make them yourself.

It's also great to find a positive in your parents even if it's just using them for motivation. I think that's a really good point you've made.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late to the chat. Motivation, or lack there of, is probably my biggest problem, to answer the question external factors has very little influence on my motivation, it comes from focusing on the very small scale, and trying to do things in line with my values

Hey @SailorE thanks for joining tonight's chat!

@NutellaBusterthat's true but I can't seem to see it that way.  Whenever it comes to school I HAVE to be better and I HAVE to have above 90 even if it's the best in the class.  That's why I don't really show her my work.  I see where you're going with the expectations but it just doesn't really work like that in some aspects of it.

@FootyFan26 I get where you're coming from too. I needed to be open with my mum about it and luckily she was accepting of what I wanted. I hope you can come to something where both you and your mum are happy!

@chandelier Can you name some for us? 😄

When other people are depending on me is another motivation. I don't get how people can just blow someone off and not do any work required of them.

@stonepixie Helping others is an invaluable asset and moral to have. We all need a helping hand sometimes.

I tend to just look past the setbacks. Keep my eye on the prize at the end. Also just telling myself that the road to my dreams/goal is never going to be a straight line.

originally posted on 03-08-2015 8:33 PM

@NutellaBuster nothing is every a straight line. I would question everything if it was a straight line. I definitely wouldn't be able to do something for a living if it didn't challenge me every single day.
