planning a trip

i've been posting about this in numerous threads but i think it makes sense to just make one for it.

I'm planning to go to Northern Territory to visit where my family live and are from. I think this will be a good experience for me to connect to my indigenous culture.

Except it is going to cost me around $800 minimum just for flights, not including accomodation near the airport because of flight times, paying for costs to where I want to go which is about 3 hours from Alice Springs, anything extra I need to buy and other expenses that might come up.

I'm struggling to have enough money for this trip.

@Ngaio-RO suggested either Go Fund Me or Kickstarter, does anybody have any other tips or ideas for how I can do this?

This trip sounds like a brilliant idea @j95

Do you know anyone in the area you could stay with to reduce accommodation costs?

Everyday Hero is another website similar to GoFundme and Kickstarter which could be helpful...

@letitgo thanks! Yeah, there is no accomodation where i'm going, but the community i am going to is 3 hours from Alice Springs so due to flight times i'll need to stay a night either side. Apart from that I have accomodation sorted. Which is good.

That's awesome to hear. 🙂

Have you thought about doing a budget to help with your savings?

This sounds like a fantastic idea @j95 🙂
The way I've saved money over the years was just not being a big spender 😛 Are there any odd jobs you can do around your neighbourhood or friends to help you out? Even a little bit can go towards your goal.

Welcome back!
