What do you do when you're stressed?

Stress is actually a bit more complicated than you might think!

There's actually three levels of stress

Not stressed enough-

Things feel boring. There's not enough going on to make you feel like doing anything it can be kind of confusing to figure out what to do next, or you might find yourself easily distracted from whatever task you're meant to be doing.

Too stressed-

We all know this feeling, when there's just so much going on that it's all a bit overwhelming. You might feel too worried or stressed to actually get started on anything you have to do. Some people talk about feeling frozen by the stress.

Eustress -(just the right amount of stress)

This is a healthy amount of stress, it's where there's stuff to do, and you know it's important to get it done and that helps you focus. This is the kind of stress that helps our brains gear up to tackle a challenge without going to overdrive.

So what i want to know is two things.

1. Do you find yourself not stressed enough? Or too stressed? Or something else?

2. What things do you do to get back to the right amount of stress?

I meant to reply to this ages ago but I guess I forgot. Sorry @Ben-RO!

Anyway, Do you find yourself not stressed enough? Or too stressed? Or something else?

I tend to find myself too stressed most often, although there are unproductive times when I am not stressed enough. Generally, when I'm too stressed, I feel as though there's too much on my plate, and when I sit down calmly and try to tackle it, I realise that I can manage it much better than my over-active brain was trying to tell me I could.

What things do you do to get back to the right amount of stress?

When I'm really stressed I'll clean my room, because I feel like the mess outside my head kind of mirrors the mess inside. If that makes sense. And after I've cleaned a bit, I can usually make a cup of tea and write a to-do list, which are other things I do to lower my stress levels. I also try to go for a walk (sometimes, a run), to burn off the excess energy I might be feeling. Or I'll force myself to sit down and focus on something that has absolutely nothing to do with whatever I'm stressed about. e.g. do some colouring in, or read some fanfiction.

2. What things do you do to get back to the right amount of stress?
