This isn't a pet peeve, so much as a guaranteed way to make me furious. I absolutely cannot stand it when someone not only escapes responsibility for doing something wrong, but actively pins that blame on someone else (without their consent), so that all punishment falls on the scapegoat instead. Like if someone speeds and gets ticketed while they're driving your car, and then unabashedly forces you to pay the bill, because "hey, you can't prove it wasn't you driving, so what are you going to do about it?". Or if your sibling breaks something in the house and says you did it, so you end up getting grounded with chores for a week, while they're free to go out and do whatever they want.

The first time this happened to me, I was spitting fire and blood for days. I mean, I get wanting to escape punishment. Being fined or scolded sucks, because it's supposed to suck. But it's one thing to dodge a bullet, and another entirely to drag someone in front of you to use as a human bullet shield. Ugh, I'm getting a bit irritated just thinking about it now. Thankfully it doesn't happen much, but when it does...

oh my god @StarLord thats mine too. ESPECIALLY people on tran station escalators and there is a VISIBLE train RIGHT THERE about to LEAVE. I once had a woman shout at me because "people should learn not to be impatient" and "I want to stand next to my children", never mind that if I miss this train I'll be late to work ._.

Another pet peeve is people taking pictures without asking. It's so rude - I've had someone point a camera right in my face just casually, then got upset when I swore at him. When people do that I've started taking pictures of them back, and now my friend and I have a blog called 'Don't Take My Photo' dedicated to these pictures. I've also had it happen during photoshoots when we're taking Good Professional Pictures - like, you could take my business card and get better quality than your iphone???

You just need to ask. Most of the time I get really excited, I'll pose, I'll look happy, etc. I love it when kids want to get photos with me. It's really just being polite that makes the difference.

@ivory gee that escalator woman must have been running low on empathy that day!

Seems like a lot of people want to take your picture! Why is that do you think?

I used to busk and it always surprised me how many people wanted to take my picture. Sometimes it used to annoy me a lot because I didn't feel good about my appearance (it's not the kind of job you dress up for too much) and I'd just think - "it's music! Just enjoy the sound and be in the moment, not taking photos!"

I look very colourful/alternative, and so do a lot of my friends, so I can understand WHY people want pictures.... but not why they don't ask -___-

@ivory I totally get you on the photos thing. I'm not even kidding, but I once had a complete stranger take a photo of me and a few friends when we were posing for a photo my mum was taking. The stranger had their phone up and pointed at us, so rude.
And the escalators! I hate it when people just stand there and block the way. Sometimes, you'll have one person on the right and on the next step, a person on the left and there is no way to slip through them. I hate it on stairs too (and anywhere really), when people are walking waaay too slowly and I can't get past them.

I hate it when people stand on the wrong side of the escalator (you're supposed to stand on the left) or they block the whole thing so people can't walk past.

Did you know that escalators were designed so that all pedestrians to talk up and down? It was designed as a way to prevent bottle-necks and get people quickly from one large space to another large space (e.g.. a train platform to a concourse) via a narrow walkway. That's why you're meant to walk on them. They weren't made to carry people up or down stairs at all! That's what elevators are for.

Yes @StarLord the escalator thing annoys me too! It's common courtesy to stay on the left and out of the way of other travellers!

Another thing that bothers me is when cars drive really close behind you on the road. Like, tailgating is illegal and that's beacuse it's not safe. Grrrr!!

@roseisnotaplant @letitgo The power point thing annoys me too. And when people turn lights on during the day time, Im like OPEN A CURTAIN OR SOMETHING.

@missep Yeahh I cant stand the sound of people chewing gum with their mouths open. They sound like  cows lol

Something else that irritates me is when you are trying to talk to someone and they have their head in their phone. Its like GEEZZ cant you wait til im finished talking

I get really annoyed when people don't say thank you when you open a door for them or step out of their way and let them go first. Obviously I don't do those things for the 'thank you's but what happened to courtesy?

Did someone move this thread? Because this is the second time I've posted today and it's said this message cannot be found 😛

Now for my answer 🙂
On powerpoints with nothing in them annoy me soooooo much. I could see one when I was at uni, and someone else actually turned it off and I was so proud and thankful to this random stranger 😛

A minor thing is that I hate it when people say yes when I offer them food. I was being polite, not actually offering 😛 On the other side, I hate it when people say no when I don't want to eat the food anymore.

Okay but when people leave power points on when they're not using them like WHY.

YES @roseisnotaplant! I hate that too! And also when people leave the light on when they're not in a room - what a waste of electricity!

Welcome back!
