Ahhh @MB95 I have alll the feels after reading that- thank YOU. For your beautiful words, for your generosity and openness, and for being such a massive part of this community. It's truly been a privilege to get to know you here over the last 18 months or so- I'm still with ReachOut but am in a different role now so I don't spend as much time moderating these days.
I also love that you remembered our plant chats! Lockdown 2.0 has been alll about plants and gardening for me- I'll be honest and say that I've killed a few, but I'm also getting heaps of joy seeing things that I've planted now flowering. I hope that your plant babies are also bringing you moments of joy/ contentness!
Without getting too sentimental, they also remind me that no matter how shitty a day is, the world keeps on going- I especially love how succulents will suddenly bloom, and surprise you with their resilience. I've nearly killed many succulents, and I have one that's currently got gorgeous pink flowers a bit like this one
Goodbyes are hard, so I'm going to try not to go on too much! But thank you so much for your kind words. You're an awesome human @MB95 , and it means the absolute world to us to know that this community has helped you in your journey. Seriously. It's a bloody privilege to be even a tiny part of someone's story and I'm glad that this community has been able to help you when things have been dark.
P.S. Are you a Studio Ghibli fan? I was looking for plant themed GIFs for this post and this reminded me of how much I want to watch Totoro again - I think I saw you and Lost mention Spirited Away? If you haven't seen it already, I highly recommend My Neighbour Totoro - that's where the last GIF is from. Also Kiki's Delivery Service/ Howl's Moving Castle are just freaking delightful. Take care of yourself- though I'm sure I will see you around a little bit more for this week at least 🙂
