Wellbeing Wednesday: Feel-Good Music! 6th January
Each Wednesday (or Thursday if we forget ;)) we post a different well being activity for you to give a go.
This week is about music!
Almost everyone enjoys music (would love to hear from you if you don't!) and music has been proven to be an excellent stress relief, and mood enhancer!
This week's activity is:
1. Take a few minutes out of your day, to think about a song that makes you feel good. Play it, blast it in the car, look up the lyrics, have a dance to it - adsorb the good vibes from the song!
2. Share with us in the thread what that song is, and why it's meaningful for you or makes you feel good!
Hopefully we'll achieve a list of songs in this thread that we can make into a feel good playlist!
I'll get us going.
A song that always makes me feel good is: Days Like These by The Cat Empire
When I play this song, it makes me think of driving with my windows down in summer, going to the beach and not caring too much about the stresses of life! It also makes me want to have an impromptu boogie where ever I am.
Excited to hear your favourite tunes!
You can also check out these threads Self-Love Songs and Pick-Me-Up Songs for more fabulous songs! 😄
Comments
When I first saw this thread this is the song that instantly came to mind!
I feel so good: It's from the movie Full Out Which I totally recommend you watch if you like feel good and inspirational movies!
It gets me feeling a bit better and I always do a little dance when I hear it, it just reminds me of the movie and the inspiration. And to add to that so does this song from the movie...
And Breakdown...
actually, just the whole damn soundtrack is amazing! 😄
another one I love....
Rise up: When I first heard this song it touched something inside of me, it was like something saying it was always there for me and always there to support me no matter what. It also kind of transforms into a melody for myself, I can rise up and support myself too. I can rise up from the darkest times.
Ahhh so many beautiful songs @Bee @DruidChild @redhead @gina-RO @litgym!!!
I'm feeling lazy tonight, so I'm just going to link in the posts where I already shared some of my favourite songs.
The first lot are all Ninjago, and I still love them: Here they are!
And the second lot are still Ninjago, with a few others from How To Train Your Dragon and Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse thrown in. whoop whoop they rule
😄
Absolutely love this thread! Music is so powerful
My music taste changes all the time, I jump between genres, decades and fav artists all the time! When I need a pick me up, I listen to songs that remind me of good times! I love to listen to Savage Garden because I associate it with road trips with my mum when I was younger
So I've just had this song stuck in my head and have been listening to it for about an hour on repeat
below
This is me - written by Kesha (@litgym will love this 😛 )
This song reminds me that I am me and I can be strong as I am. It's a bit of a self-love anthem for me 🙂
Edit:
I also totally forgot @Jess1-RO Yes my taste in music changes too! Right now I'm listening to the soundtrack from The Next Step as I've been watching season 6 recently.
Also the name Savage Garden is familiar for some reason. SO I googled them and yes I remember listening to them growing up too!
hahaha, im listening to days like these right now and its hard not to move to it !! @gina-RO it's very summery
my song is **can't pick between any kesha songs** okay this is very hard, I can going take it down to 3 songs haha
boots & boys: I know all the lyrics **well I know all the lyrics to every kesha song** but I can never shut my mouth, currently humming it now in the library. it's such a bop !!
take it off: so I sing this song SO MUCH that every single ONE of my friends knows the lyrics BAHAHA. every time I start singing take it off all my friends join in 🙂 haha my ex-history teacher was looking at us weirdly just good vibes you know.
blow: this song reminds me of the kesha concert when she had a confetti gun and was spraying it everywhere !! once again GOOD VIBES, feels like a party song 🙂
OVERALL EVERY KESHA SONG MAKES ME SUPER HAPPY !!
I have several feel good happy songs, this song reminds me to not give up and keep fighting no matter how much it hurts.
@redhead I started listening to Icon for Hire a while ago because of your RO signature and now I really love them!! Their songs are really inspirational.
@litgym Kesha is so good! Learn to Let Go has got me through some hard times.
My go to feel good song changes every couple of days haha. Right now I’m loving Grace Carter’s Heal Me, it makes me feel really empowered and like the people who hurt me can’t touch me anymore!
”I'm not waiting for you to cure, you to heal me
I'm not waiting for, for your love, you can keep it...
...Grew harder, found laughter
Found peace in all the cracks, oh...
...I happened, I matter.”
