haha omg i need to get on your level @florenceforever

For me relaxing is having no responsibilities what so ever 😛  I would say Thailand. Lots of relaxing at beaches and islands, but also lots of activities 🙂 so maybe not as tranquil as your 10 days!

Haha I needed it @Troy!

I've done several trips to Europe and Asia but they have just been GO GO GO. Lots of fun but not incredibly relaxing 😛

My favourite thing was just seeing something new almost every day! Plus travelling is pretty relaxing !

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:26 PM

@redhead so true, it's such an amazing place and getting to see all the different things that people have built and do. Also I hope you enjoy your trip!

@Cheeselover85 of course, the food is very important too!

@ryvb3 yes, I took around 4000 photos on my trip in Europe a couple of months ago. It's so much fun to go through them and they make good gifts in albums or scrapbooks or collages.

@FootyFan26 it's the best travelling to places where you have family or friends, you can crash at their place (if that's cool with them) instead of a hotel.

@OrangeOliver new places are awesome! And relaxing... well it depends on what you do and where you are but I suppose I can see it being relaxing.

@N1ghtW1ng I just think it's pretty relaxing no matter where you are. Not having uni or work stressors, gold!

I found that the Turkish culture at home is quite different in the place itself.

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:25 PM

That must have been a really interesting thing for you to notice @FootyFan26

What was different about it?

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:31 PM

@florenceforever I see my Turkish relatives very rarely but I know some of them are your typical bogans with the aussie accent that are really loud and friendly too!  They also tend to speak half Turkish - half English which can be pretty annoying at times.

In Turkey when we spoke it was pretty much all English and no mixture except when they were explaining what things meant in broken English.  There was also a lot more food and the hotels there are very different from here too.  The rooftops are open and ours had a garden on the top.

There's one thing that they all do which is use charcoal bbqs.  They don't believe in using gas becaus ethe charcoal gives a much better flavour.

I don't really like traveling because I'm away from my Mum who I'm used to worrying about so I always think and worry about if she's okay and what she's doing because I don't have my Dad anymore. that goes for any other family members though but my Mum is most important along with my siblings and grandparents.

I also don't like the language barrier but speaking English, is probably easier because English is a very commonly spoken language. I really dislike not knowing where I am either so when I'm lost I get very worried.

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:38 PM

@FootyFan26 I get like that too, worrying about home. And I also don't like not knowing where I am, being lost freaks me out sometimes, especially when I'm in a group (or supposed to be).

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:38 PM

That's completely understandable @FootyFan26 - travleling to a completely different country can be very anxiety provoking! I got lost in Germany once and cried like a baby

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:40 PM

@florenceforever I was in the bathroom and couldn't figure out how to open the door and started panicking. Thankfully I got it open (the lock was a pain) but I hate that. Mainly because I was travelling in a group and we had a set time to meet up and if I was trapped... yeah. Not fun.

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:39 PM

I find that it happens closer to home too like school camps and just going out with friends at night which I don't do for that very reason. When I'm in an unfamiliar place I get worried and stressed really easily if we're even slightly lost.

My least favourite thing about travelling is tourists. Loud, noisy, and often obnoxious. I've had people shove me out of the way for a nice photo. Sadly they don't have my talent when taking photos devoid of people but seriously, it annoys me a lot. I usually passive-aggressively shove them back.

@redhead the time zones can be a bit annoying, especially when contacting home. And it sucks when you're tired during travelling.
@OrangeOliver yes! The costs can be so disappointing some times. With so many tourists, surely it could be a little cheaper, right?

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:39 PM

@N1ghtW1ng completely agree!

I guess the costs are just a result of supply/demand! Everyone wants to travel so costs are more! 😞

Yep, tourists can be incredibly annoying sometimes @N1ghtW1ng! I couldn't imagine living somewhere that is constantly full of tourists - like Venice for instance.

originally posted on 22-06-2015 8:33 PM

That's really interesting @FootyFan26! I can imagine it might have been a bit of a shock for you.

2. What's your favourite thing about travelling??

I feel like it's obvious, but just seeing new places and people and experience things I haven't seen before! I also LOVE THE FOOD!!! It's literally the reason why I keep going back to Japan

That looks amazing @Troy!

I went a visited Oxford last year - SO COOL!

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, without anything holding you back (ie money, work, school, etc) where would you go and why?

I actually don't know. I have so many places I want to see and people I want to meet. If I had to pick it would be Sweden to see my mum (I'm actually going there in 2.5 weeks)

Hey everyone!

If I could travel anywhere tomorrow, I would go to Canada to check out the spectacular Niagara Falls.

I would love to go to Canada as well @ryvb3! It sounds like a wonderful country.
