5.What part of your life do you want to improve and what motivates you to get there?

I want to improve my general wellbeing so keeping healthy, getting enough sleep, eating breakfast every day. As well as being the person I want to be - working in a job I love, enjoying what I do everyday and be the type of person people want to be around. That sort of stuff.

I should do meal planning. But then sometimes I'm not motivated enough to cook food. Always need to cook more than needed for when I just CBF'd.

Daily schedules can help such as having the same wake-up time every day and bed time. Having a study timetable. Making todo lists every night before going to bed can also help.

What habits can help keep you motivated throughout school/work/life?

  • Being organised
  • Having a list of long and short term goals
  • Having a reward system
  • Not procrastinating and letting things build up
  • Doing things in steps instead of looking at them as one big task

Setting many short term goals. If you're constantly achieving your short term goals whatever they may be. it's a great confidence booster as well as reinforcement for the bigger goals in your life!

Also knowing that it's okay to have lapses here and there. Just having the resilience and perserverance to get up and try again.

I'm ready to learn from everyone else on this one! 😄

@NutellaBuster I've had previous psych notes read back to me to show just how much I have improved. I found this particularly helpful because you are just at it all the time that you can't even notice your own improvement psychologically.

I tend to listen to music that I can relate to. Usually from bands like GC who have a lot of meaning in their music. There's just something about listening to music I can relate to I like. Even though the story isn't the nicest it has meaning which is enough for me.

Alot of responses there, moving onto the next question:

5.What part of your life do you want to improve and what motivates you to get there?

One of the things i wanted to improve was to wake up early everyday, even weekends lol I've actually been doing pretty well, the fact that i get another 3-4 hrs in the day and enjoy breakfast really motivated me 🙂

I like where you're going @NutellaBuster! Waking up early is not for the faint-hearted, especially if you love your bed Smiley Tongue

@NutellaBuster and @Myvo

And it's difficult to wake up early when it is cold in winter!

Good evening everyone!

I think we need to get rid of "need to do" and "have to do" thinking.

There is nothing we have to do. We
WANT to do things.

Welcome @Sveto!

Hm, that's an interesting point of view. I think that it depends on context. Replacing 'need to' to 'want to' sounds like as a person, you're taking more responsibility and control over where you want to go.

What part of your life do you want to improve and what motivates you to get there?

I'd like to improve my anger because I've been having trouble controlling it sometimes.  The fact that the coordinator wants to call my mum has defo motivated me to change although I'm finding it hard.  If there's anything that'll motivate me it's the threat of a phone call home from the school!
