Hola everyone, sorry this is so late, but heres our first set of questions this time all about your Christmas Traditions! 😍

Christmas traditions:

What does Christmas mean to you?

Do you have any Christmas traditions that your family does that you love?

If you don't celebrate Christmas, do you have any other traditions/religious holidays you celebrate this time of year?

im loving everyones responses so far 🙂

What does christmas mean to you?

Although christmas is a really challanging time it also mean that im able to get out and about a little more. To me its also an opportunity to give or help others whether that be through the regular gift giving, or doing some volunteering, making up some small gifts and donating to families who are doing it tough or helping make others christmases special somehow.

Do you have any christmas traditions that your family does that you love?

hmm we dont really have any traditions and each yrs different but we tend to decorate the christmas tree together, watch all sorts of christmas movies, listen to carols and do xmas crafts and baking activities as well as looking around at the houses with xmas lights.

ahh yes i must say christmas isn’t going to be a pleasant day.... @Esperanza67

@Bee if things get quite overwhelming (im also not sure what’s going on this year and im quite frightened I’ll have to spend it with my “father”. you know let’s just call him R now.) i mightWb contact my khl counsellor if she’s around because she told me her timetable doesn’t change. ahh im not too sure. i feel the family will just get annoyed at me if i do something that’s not communicating with them.

Whats your favourite Christmas carol/song ?

I quite like the classic songs but I’m also really into Ariana grandes and Sia’s christmas album 🙂

Whats your favourite Christmas movie ?

um OF COURSE Elf !!!!! but **looks through draw of dvds** Mickey’s once upon a time!! there’s 3 short movies and they are just amazing. i loved watching them as a kid 🙂

Christmas entertainment:

What's your favourite Christmas carol/song?

Hmm, I'm not that into Christmas carols but I really like Noel & 6 White Boomers! I have this awesome memory of my mum piggy-backing around our yard singing the song! 🙂 Noel's tune is really nice and calming. In contrast, jingle bell rock is quick loud but I've always seen Christmas as peaceful Smiley Very Happy !

What's your favourite Christmas movie (if it's not Elf then we may have a problem Smiley Wink )?

Umm, OK I value my life so... Elf (Happy @BeeSmiley LOL )

I really like 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas,' I know, cheesy but its got a really sweet message. I also like 'Love Actually' AH all Christmas movies are so cutee!

I am not really a fan of christmas carols (sorry!!!) but its mainly because I work in a supermarket and have to hear them constantly for about two months 😛

I LOVE christmas movies though! Elf and Love actually are my favourites!! 🙂

Sorry I am late to the (Christmas?) party! But here are all my responses:

Christmas traditions:

What does Christmas mean to you?

I'm a Christian so it means celebrating the birth of Jesus and the greatest gift the world has received 🙂

Do you have any Christmas traditions that your family does that you love?

I love attending church and singing Christmas carols 🙂 I also really enjoy baking Christmas treats while watching Christmas movies. On the plans to bake this year are: Oreo truffles, candy cane bark and ginger bread cookies.

If you don't celebrate Christmas, do you have any other traditions/religious holidays you celebrate this time of year?

Interested to see the answers 🙂

Christmas entertainment:

What's your favourite Christmas carol/song?

I love We 3 Kings, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and Angels We Have Heard on High. I really love all the Pentatonix Christmas albums and Echosmiths Christmas EP, also the 2 Glee Christmas albums so during the month of December I rotate through those 🙂

What's your favourite Christmas movie (if it's not Elf then we may have a problem Smiley Wink )?

Full disclosure I actually wrote this question haha! I love Elf, The Holiday and all those cheesy Hallmark and Netflix original Christmas movies on Netflix 🙂 my sister says they're too predictable but that's what I love about them.

Christmas Gifts:

Have you started your Christmas shopping?

I actually finished mid November, they are even wrapped and under the tree 🙂

Normally I am finished by the end of November but this year I had to be finished by mid November as I had so many things happening and there has been a 4 week period (it's almost over thankfully!) of absolute madness and I knew if I wasn't busy I would be self-caring.

For those who have finished your Christmas shopping what is your secret?

I make lists of people I have to buy for along with ideas of what they would like and a budget. Then I start shopping over 8 weeks buying things gradually, this means I can take advantage of sales and my bank account doesn't hate me.

Is there anyone you struggle with buying gifts for?

My Dad! But I think I have a solution 🙂 I buy him a movie I think he would like and then grab a voucher to an auto-store. Super easy, still personal and it doesn't give me a headache by the end of it.

@Bee, christmas is the worst time to work retail!!

Have you started your Christmas shopping?

I have actually finished as of yesterday!

For those who have finished your Christmas shopping what is your secret?

I always start shopping early. I also try to take advantage of the sales that happen around that time to get most of my pressies! I find that getting it all done early makes me feel waaaay less stressed about Christmas in general 😛

Is there anyone you struggle with buying gifts for?

All my family are super hard to buy gifts for. I usually start trying to catch hints really early in the year about what they might like to make it easier but it is still usually really hard!!

Christmas Gifts:

Have you started your Christmas shopping?

Yeah, I smashed out all mine out last weekend (only 2 though so not a big achievement 🙂 ) It didn't take me long, my little sister helped me and my mum was easy 🙂

For those who have finished your Christmas shopping what is your secret?

Umm, well its kind of last minute, hasty and not a lot of thought... It seems to sneak up on me but I still try and do really good cards - I really enjoy writing them!

Is there anyone you struggle with buying gifts for?

Probably my father, I don't ever want to get him anything and he's not interested in much so its hard anyway 😞

@annabethxchase😄 ahaha aweesome! Although I think it was actually @ErinsAntics who made that question 😉

That sounds like a great plan @litgym Reaching out to your KHL Counsellor is an excellent strategy, like @Esperanza67 I'll probably pop in around Christmas time too to check in on things 🙂 But we'll have someone around either way 🙂

@dog_lover94 oh working in retail at Christmas can be so challenging, I was a cashier before my injury, and I remember getting to the point I was so happy when we stopped playing Christmas carols! 😄

What's your favourite Christmas carol/song?

Hmmm, now let's search the Bee brain for Christmas carols.... Searching.... There are so many Amazing Christmas Carols, I love listening to the Melbourne Christmas Carols in the bowl or something? They ALWAYS have amazing artists/singers singing!

What's your favourite Christmas movie? (if it's not Elf then we may have a problem)

Ohh there are so many good Christmas movies too!!!! I don't know if I can choose 😛

Here come three days worth of GR answers!

Wednesday: Christmas Gifts:

Have you started your Christmas shopping?

Yes! And I'm almost done! (Have to buy a present for more one person)

For those who have finished your Christmas shopping what is your secret?

I try to budget over the year and take advantage of any Black Friday sales

Is there anyone you struggle with buying gifts for?

Like several others, my Dad!

Thursday: Christmas decorations:

If you were a Christmas tree what colour and types of ornaments would you want to be hanging off your branches?

A green tree that is covered with snow and includes ornaments in the shapes of ice-cream cones, popsicles and chocolate bars

Do you have a particular Christmas decoration/ornament that you love and means a lot to you?

This popsicle one I got from Kmart last year (I couldn't find any this year which is a bit of a bummer!) because I thought it looked so cool especially with all the sprinkles!

IMG_2296.jpg

Friday: Christmas Cheer:

What's something that we can do to spread the Christmas cheer?

Singing Christmas songs! (Even though some people are starting to get bothered by my constant singing haha)

Oooh I remember handing out and receiving those cute cards when I was primary school @annabethxchase! They were so nice 😄

How can we help those who struggle this time of year?

Just giving them what we can - whether that be loose change or in @annabethxchase's case with her family, food or a small gift :).

Whats something that we can do to spread christmas cheer?
I generally send out xmas cards, and encourage others to join me with a christmas movie if im watching it. i also put xmas lights on my house for those who enjoy xmas light hunting.

How can we help those who struggle at this time of year?

I donate some toys, books, and/or clothes to places like the salvation army who do the family packs for struggling families, if i know someone struggling then i also send them a card either in the mail or if i can arrange a time to see them i do that as well jsut to bring abit of joy to their day.
