Chit Chat

Sometimes I just feel like talking to somebody, just having a chat about stuff, not even bad stuff, just things. Thats why I'm making this thread because that is sort of what I'm feeling tonight. We can talk about heaps of good things on here, try to keep it positive.

@scared01 I’m only 15.. I have school Monday-Friday, gymnastics Monday Wednesday Friday night and work Thursday night and Saturday all day and Sunday all day. Can you see why I would rather die? Living is painful and I’m legit failing at everything because I have no time and no sleep.

That sounds alright! I always wanted to babysit but I never actually did it. Do you like it?

I know 😊 @Bananatime04 was just asking if you had to work tomorrow too, I know some people have after school jobs. your schedule sounds just as a crazy as mine!

i don't really have much choice but to babysit as they are my siblings but its both good and bad. i don't mind taking care of kids that are over 5 cause you can actually do more stuff with them and they are easily entertained!

Ohh sorry @scared01! I completely forgot. I just assume that everyone knows I have gymnastics Monday nights.. it’s a real problem of mine!

That’s alright! I would prefer older kids to babysit if I was doing it

Well I’m sorry to say this but I have a lot to do before I can go to bed and it’s already pretty late so I’m gonna go for now. I might pop back in but that depends how I’m going for time.. see ya!

Thanks for the chat guys xx

Hi @WheresMySquishy! How's everything going?

Hi @Tiny_leaf! Thanks for asking about me. 🙂

I have been feeling better since the stent was removed, but I am still feeling lightheaded sometimes. I saw the urologist on Friday and he said he removed two stones and found calcified plaques in my kidney. I got to see some photos of them which was cool. He believes that the stones are growing from the plaques. Luckily, he doesn't think that it's a parathyroid problem because I have normal calcium levels in my blood. He think it's more to do with having a family history of kidney stones. We are still waiting for the results of the stone analysis so we don't know for sure what the stones are made out of yet.
I didn't understand much about this plaque at first, but when I read some of the research about it, I understood it more. It is kind of like how stalactite rocks or grapes grow apparently. He actually isn't sure now if the stones that showed up on the right side are stones or plaques and was thinking about doing another investigation under anaesthetic to see, but I think that's a bit over the top.
Every one and a half years, I have to have an ultrasound to monitor my kidneys. In the meantime, I have to reduce protein, oxalates and salt in my diet. I have to eat more citrus and drink lots of water. I was given a referral to see a nephrologist, who the urologist thinks might put me on a tablet, but he told me that chances are I will end up having another 'stone event' as they call them. I've got a few more tests to do to provide more answers and see how I'm going after the surgeries.

How are you going? Hope you are well 🙂

Hopefully the tests give you some more information!!

@Tiny_leaf  Thanks for the kind words! We've found out what the stones are made out of now (calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate and carbonate) but a lot of other tests to check for excess calcium etc. have come back normal. So we might not find an underlying issue causing the stones to form. Maybe the nephrologist will be able to say more though. My parents are hoping he'll put me on a tablet to try to prevent it from happening again. I asked my regular GP whether it could be related to the medications I was taking but she doesn't think so.

@WheresMySquishy that's so weird...

Are you feeling better than before?

@Tiny_leaf  It's kind of good in a way that it's probably not a parathyroid problem because that could have involved another operation. It's also not a problem of excess excretion or levels of certain things. I've heard that in some cases, they don't really know what causes stones to form. But I hope they can find out more because the urologist believes it will happen again.
I'm feeling a lot better since the stent was removed. No more pain! 🙂
But I still get lightheaded/dizzy more often than usual, especially with certain 'triggers' such as heat. I have a history of low blood pressure and low iron stores though. I was a bit worried about taking my iron tablets because they have an ingredient associated with oxalate excretion, but we decided with my GP that I would go back on them until I ask the nephrologist about it. There are other ones I can go on that have different ingredients if he says I can't have them. I hope that going back on them will help with my lightheadedness.:)

[R] We had a bit of a tough time today, and we let in a new person so now there are 13 of us. Although I think a few of us are doing alright.

I don't have subtitles so I'm not 100% sure but I think that they're considering fighting off flying sharks with a chainsaw and some... antifreeze? Weird stuff..
