Where in the world...

So I'm going to be travelling to Europe for 3 months this year and I've very, very excited. And it got me wondering what everyone's ultimate destination is and why?

For me it's Rome - because I remember a project on Ancient Rome in year 4 and ever since then it's always fascinated me...not to mention the food is already making me salivate 🙂

So if you had to pick anywhere in the world where would you go?

Going to the USA would be fun, particularly to San Francisco or New York. Haha, maybe I'll catch myself on Humans of New York (HONY) Who knows?Smiley Tongue

I've been to my ultimate destination Japan three times in the past four years! I love it there!

I suppose my ultimate destination that I haven't been to yet is Spain. I'm going there this June, so I'll get to tick that one off too and will have to pick another new ultimate destination!

I went to England last year and if there is one place in the whole tripI enjoyed the most, it was to Bath.

Ironically, I bought a rubber duck in Bath!

The other place we went was Paris and if you can, go to the first level Cafe in the Eiffel Tower.

They have the best chicken I have EVER tasted! Better than KFC  😄

The place I would go to in the world would be to Uluru, (a few days drive:D).

I didn't like leaving the country...

The ulitimate place to go would be Alaska to go gold mining!!

 Perfect 😄

I'm really keen on going to Europe, and I think I might be at the start of next year. I really want to see Paris, but Europe (as a whole) is just one of my favourite places.

I also want to go to NZ and go on an adventure tour and d stuff like bungee jump, sky dive, white water raft, etc.

I always fall in love with places I've already been, so going to a brand new place is always exciting for me, cos I always find something to like about it!

I'm also going to Europe this year for a couple of months. I guess I'm looking forward to Amsterdam the most.

I was taing some 'Name Every Country in the World' quiz and got a bit obsessed with visiting countries I'd never heard of, like Sao Tome and Principe or The Grenadines.

For me top of my list would be Canada -- I've never seen snow before, would be fun to get my arse absolutely handed to in ice hockey by the locals ^^

Following Canada would be Japan -- viewing such a different culture would be real rad to do

3rd on my list is Germany - lots of beer and also has awesome things happening with the place. i would absolutely love to see the Nurburgring Nordschleife!

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to go to Iceland and Japan.

Or even better! Start in Japan and travel across asia/mongolia/russia and work my way to Iceland on the back of yaks, stopping to spend time with nomadic tribes in Eurasia.

I would love to travel everywhere! I would love to go back to Europe for a snowboarding holiday!

Good for you dilz - can you put me in your suitcase 😄

I would love to go to CANADA - I have always heard nice things like the people are the nicest and happiest and I love cold weather and it seems like a beautiful place from what my Canadian Lecturer has said.

Good choice! I'm in Canada right now. I've been living in Vancouver for the past 7 or 8 months but I'm moving to Calgary soon for about a month. After that, I'm moving to London and then I'll be in Iceland for fall/winter (Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan). I like the cold too. 😄

As for ultimate destination… that's a tough one. I don't have one single place I want to go, I just want to go to every place that interests me!

I never thought I'd like Hong Kong, but living there for six months really changed my opinion about that. Because of that, I'm now looking forward to going to Morocco and Istanbul in 2014! Where else might I go?

I want to go pretty much everywhere. If space tourism became available to me, I would want to take it up.

Once I'm onto my own money and gap year, around Europe is where I most want to go. As well as travelling around Australia.

Lately I've had quite the interest in going places that are harder to get to/more limited like Antarctica and the Arctic, maybe even North Korea. Especially Antarctica.

I just want to go everywhere.

For now, I'll say Antarctica.

The harder to get to or less popular places have been finding their way onto my list, too.

I'm really curious about North Korea, too. Also on my list are places that are hard to get to, like the Pitcairn Islands, Falkland Islands, Galapogas Islands, and so on. 🙂

I hadn't even heard of the Pitcairn Islands before. From a little bit of research, they're certainly on my list now. 😄

Hi Dilz,

I have already picked and I'll be hitting the same country you're visiting. I will be visiting Venice in August, I have read a lot about Rome too and maybe I will try to be there for 2days (as I have only 7days in Italy). I have little difficulty finding a budget accommodation in Venice, I already found trivago Venice but would be happy if there are more suggestions. Can't wait to get on the boat...

I have always wanted to go to the Galapagos Islands ever since the first time I heard about them. The Artic and Antartica sound pretty awesome too. But I also want to go to Europe, especially Italy. 🙂 Next year though I'll be travelling to New Zealand with my family.

I know, right? Pretty obscure! It's really hard to get to though. It'd be a real challenge. 🙂

Also, I'm not so curious about North Korea right now. Looks like they're gearing up for war. 😞

If it does happen, the outcome isn't going to be one worth visiting for quite a number of years. 😞

I'm really loving the idea of the challenge. 😄 Be pretty awesome to tell people I'd been to a place like that.

Ah, North Korea. Everytime they start making their way onto my travel wish list they do something which takes them off... They're such a hard one as it's the uh, weirdness which intrigues me and makes me want to visit, but is the 'weirdness' which also deterrs me.

Good thing there are so many other interesting places to occupy my travelling and dreaming time until they decide whether they do or don't belong on my list.

New Zealand, Canada, Germany... you might as well say pretty much everywhere!

I can't wait until I can travel the world. 🙂

My next travel destination is South & Central America (end of 2013), with Maccu Picchu pretty high on my to-see list...
