Dreams about having mental disorders
I've had multiple dreams now of being a person with severe schizophrenia. I know I have delusions in real life, but in these dreams the delusions are more severe and I have more symptoms like hallucinations. Just last night I dreamt that I had symptoms of schizophrenia and I was imprisoned by a psychiatrist with a bunch of other patients with similar disorders.
And also, whenever I think or hear about a disorder, people in my life start talking about it. When I first started having delusions of people 'out to get me' etc... people would mention schizophrenia around me, which made me even more paranoid, it was as if they knew something about me that I didn't. (I am undiagnosed at the moment).
When I started getting more depressed, people were mentioning depression, bipolar and schizophrenia around me, as if they were guessing disorders.
I don't know if I'm just paranoid, but when people discuss these things around me, I think they are subtly talking about me, or they know something about me that I don't know yet. Maybe I'm showing symptoms without being aware? I am not sure.

@superlock164 we appreciate your posting- it sounds like you are going through a bit of a confusing time right now!
I was going to say, would keeping a dream journal help you keep these dreams in perspective and help you uncover a pattern, a bigger picture?
I don't know if the people mentioning schizophrenia around you is just a coincidence or something else- whilst people gossiping around you like that isn't cool, maybe you could reach out to a professional and they could help you work through the anxiety and apprehension this brings you?
Keep us posted if you like 🙂
hey @superlock164 !
Your dreams are peculiar, but I'd rather you didn't give them so literal meaning. Have a proper look! Dreams do have the possibility to give us hints and tooltips in our lives. But what we can't do on our own is to interpret them correctly. When I was camping with my friends, two nights in a row I dreamt of a snake that was circling me. I got scared of meeting it in reality, but luckily I read one great explanation here https://dreams-meaning.com/blog/snakes-in-dreams . Lately, I've talked with one medium there, Amanda, she helped me and guided me through everything. So I fairly advise you to get in touch with her.
hey @superlock164
how has your week been? Did you get a chance to read the above posts? What do you think?
hey @superlock164 , those dreams sound intense
I agree with @ruenhonx , dreams are sometimes theoried to be things you are concerned about, or things you are worried might happen, even subconsciously without knowing
I think also with hearing people talk about schizophrenia everywhere, when we have something on our mind I think you pick up on it when people talk about it, you tune in to it and it seems like they are talking about or to you or that its everywhere
Because you are thinking about schizophrenia you are noticing more when people talk about it maybe? They could be talking about something else equally as much but you dont notice because thats not whats on your mind
Does that make sense?
Have you spoken to anyone like a doctor or counsellor about the delusions you have or had? Or even about these other concerns?
Hey @superlock164
I did a unit on dreams and one of the theories as to why we dream is if we are concerned about something unconsciously so maybe the reason why you are having these dreams is because you are worried about having schizophrenia. That dream about being imprisoned sounds like a nightmare. Have you thought about speaking to a GP or a psychologist about these dreams?
I can sort of relate to that, sometimes when I am thinking something I hear it and see it everywhere I go. I remember one time I thought I had cancer and I saw it on TV, people around me were speaking about it and honestly it scared me and only when I spoke to my mum (who is a nurse) it sort of put my concerns at ease so is there anyone you can speak to about what you are going through?
We are here to support you and this is a great step that you have taken sharing this with us.
Take care of yourself.
