Three positives of today
Another frequented thread on the old forums. 🙂
The idea is to look for three positive things about your day whether it's been good or bad.
I'll start it off.
1. I ate some Maltesers and they were very yummy!
2. I got some of my French assignment done. 😄
3. The new ReachOut forums. Am I the only one who was buzzing with excitement when they came on here? 😄
1. Got back on my bike today after a bad accident 6 weeks ago it was pretty scary but took it easy at first and then went back to the jumps where I got hurt. I felt pretty sick about it, but I’m so glad i eventually pushed through
2. Time with my family, went for a walk around the lake that will be near our new house soon, tried to explain to our oldest boof head that we will be moving house soon and he asked me how becsuse it is too heavy to pick up 🤔
3. Planning to spend time with extended family tomorrow who are also from regional Victoria, but feeling for all my Melbourne friends and family 🙁 It is sunny today and I hope people stuck in lockdown up there can find a way to spend their 2 ours exercise outside in this sunshine
1. My puppy and I went for a walk and he met another puppy friend 🐶
2. My best friend has a job interview today!
3. I bought ingredients for baking and will make cookies later! 😊
1. I dropped my sister to the airport at 5am and there is nothing quite like getting back into bed for a few more hours sleep when it's still dark
2. I had McDonalds for lunch - treat yourself Monday
3. I am going to go for a walk to the beach before the sun goes down
1. Listened to some good music
2. the sun was out today
3.Only shopping went wrong today, we have just ended up tiny dolls clothes delivered instead of regular human/child size items, oh dear, I was given one job how did this happen I wonder 🥴 I’m counting it as my 3rd positive beceuse it was so ridiculously funny
1. It's a beautiful day outside and there's a lot of sunshine coming in through my apartment windows
2. I had a good chat to my Mum this morning and she is doing well
3. I've been putting together a surprise video message for my sister's admission to the Supreme Court and it has been so much fun talking to old friends and watching the messages they're sending in
- Dealing with a lot at the minute so the fact that I was able to do some physical exercise for the first time in 4 weeks and head out for a surf this morning was huge for me and helped me get my head right and ready to manage some things today
- Raspberry croissants and coffee
- Some time spent with just our little baby and I this morning he is such a little funny one
That's so fantastic re: conversations with people who care @Saltwaterdreamtime - so important to have people like that. 💛
1. I'm grateful for my dad turning 89 today - amazing achievement!
2. I'm grateful for technology working well all day! (Also an amazing achievement! 😅)
3. I'm grateful for my littlest still continuing with their gymnastics/dancing/singing concerts every day... (and yep maybe there's a tiny hint of sarcasm, but no really I am grateful - it's super cute). 😆
I am very lucky to have people who are sitting down with me, with a paper and pen to sort some shit out @Philippa-RO because I can’t my head around it on my own right now 💚
And yes to the performances 😀
1. See above - very grateful today to have good people who have my back
2. Speaking of backs, I am feeling much better and am going to try going for a run/light jog today
3. It is really sunny!
4. Every single person in our house last night stayed asleep all night which is a damn miracle honestly I think small child #1 has only done that a small handful of times, and small child #2 has understandably never done that, safe to say we all had a bit of pep in our step this morning, I have always struggled with sleep and any night that I am not wide awake for some reason is very rare.
1. In grateful today for really really long conversations with people who care about me who are helping me through a really tough time and helping me to dig myself out a giant hole I have put myself in
2. It was so rainy and windy here but the sun has just come out
3. hmm not sure yet
1. My friends and family and safe and healthy.
2. I still can work during lockdown.
3. Just everything about my puppy!
Three positives of today:
1. My family and I are healthy
2. University, work and placement are still going ahead
3. despite lockdown i am grateful for everything I have at the moment
1. Some good news about Victoria lockdown today.
2. Had a nice smoothie to start my day
3. The sun was coming through in the morning which was cheerful 🌞
1. My covid test came back negative yhis morn thank the lord
2. having a laugh with my partner tonight when we realised we were telling olympians on the tv to "hurry up swim faster" "omg what are you doing!?" whilst digging into a block of Caramilk on the couch, haha, I haven't been for a run in like a month
3. Had a good conversation with someone on the phone this afternoon
Glad to hear @Saltwaterdreamtime, they are all amazing positives I haven't watched the Olympics yet but I am planning to! Your second positive reminded me of how I used to eat fish and chips with my friend at the oval in the car... until we realised it was a prime location for runners.... 😆
@Taylor-RO HAHAHA the oval
We do that too, but in the middle of the oval with people exercising around us. No shame.
The Olympics has been on the whole time in this house except for breaks to watch Bluey and Blaze, are the kids shows the break, or are the Olympics the break from the kids shows!? Nobody knows.
Our biggest little guy likes to watch it and has been the gymnastics and likes to copy the routines which is fun, and kept us very occupied over the last few days while waiting for covid results, not being able to go for walks etc (and I also built an indoor climbing frame for him so he might stop climbing on everything else lol... we'll see about that) so as you can imagine there is lots of climbing and jumping/gymnastics, at our place at the minute. We had the Judo on but when we heard the words "bang" "Kick them" "ohhh ha ha ha bang, BODY SLAM hello * insert baby's name here* " we very quickly turned something else on.
It's kind of hectic.
Feeling for all you Sydney peeps
1. Dance parties early this morning because Cool as Hell by baker boy is our oldest small humans favourite song at the minute (and mine) and we have to put the YouTube video on the tv because he likes the dancing hahah
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6vyKZrKhpwQ
2. this isn't a really good positive but it could be, I had to be covid tested today as I have a really sore throat, the tester said I could hear back tomorrow morning so that was a lot quicker than I was thinking
3. The Olympic gymnastics was also on our tv today (in between the baker boy dance parties) which also came with gymnastic "performances" copied straight from the tv
🤯 I feel this is a daily thing in our house without the Olympics upping the anti a bit and iust completely transforming the climbing and jumping activity to full blown out of control
We live in a an extremely small house that has been taken over by a performing child, a lounge room cubby and too much of the same song on repeat, we really need to get out of this lockdown can someone please come and save us
I'll pay
1. Our friends who work in this area and live near the most wonderful bakery in the world, (not including our kitchen) that’s too far for our 5km dropped some little treats off at our front door this morning, we traded them with coffee from our “local”😂🤔
2. I am feeling physically a lot better these last few days, I have been going for more walks
3. Bird watch this morning
1. Listening to good music while I do some work at home
2. Croissants for breakfast and probably lunch and probably dinner.
We gave some to our behind the house neighbours who have a new baby at home. Also left some in a little box for next door neighbour. It looks like our local cafe will be losing business because of us.... 🤭
3. I don’t like phone calls much but I have been speaking to a few different people on the phone this morning for all different reasons and it is nice to chat
1. My day started at 3:45 am this morning so I am glad that we had a restful day at home
2. Heading to another specialist tomorrow to look at my back I hope it goes ok
3. My partner who is the most amazing baker and cook made croissants over the last day or so and they were finally ready to eat tonight. I’m so lucky to have some one that could definitely sell treats for bakery prices. They have chocolate on the inside and they taste amazing
1. I was TODAY YEARS OLD, TODAY YEARS OLD!! WHen I worked out that “Shaun the Sheep” is called SHAUN because he is a sheep that gets SHAUN I nearly fell off my chair. I can not believe this. I am the only one that didn’t know this? My life has changed forever.
2.
3. 2 and 3 are still coming but this new sheep thing is a big deal.
My second one which is making me feel a whole lot better about not knowing SHAUN the sheep was called SHAUN for a reason is that today our 3 year old to me when playing with a plastic cow said "listen to music" and I said "listen to moosic haha good one you are so funny" and he said "no it's wearing headphones"
and I was like huh, show me...
he pointed to its ears
I CANT
My positives for today...
1. Medical care and how lucky we are in Australia to have this and for it be free, or very low cost. I am still in extreme pain and having spasming in my back and had to be seen again today and I think the people were so helpful. The fact that the consults have cost me nothing when people in the US pay hundreds of thousands of dollars just baffles me
2. My mentors messaged me to say they found a photo of me and them when I was a lot younger, I look so small, and tired, it's weird hey, looking back at photos of you with a smile on your face knowing what you were going through and what was really happening behind the smile... surreal, I nearly couldn't look at it
3. Egg and bacon pie
1. I finished the first part of my course!
2. Bought a new plant for my fish tank 😊
3. Took the time to visit my grandparents
1. My new shoes arrived in the mail
2. The heater keeping me warm
3. Treating myself to a peice of slice with my coffee before an appointment today
